Yep.

Pardon me for the retarded question. I hate dealing with cell carriers so I've done it as infrequently as possible.

If I get a phone with this deal, will it be activated when it arrives? I ask because I'd like to sell the phone I get from sero on ebay and use a spare phone my employer gave me. If the phone arrives and is not yet tied to my account then I can sell it. If it is attached to my account already I'll have to do an ESN swap and even then I'm not sure the phone is completely divorced from my account.

The word on the street is that for the instinct you have to get everything included plans excluding SERO for the time being.

If I get this sero plan for $30 and say a Motorola Q9C, could I tether it to my laptop without any additional fees?

I'm only asking because I read a review on the phone mentioning that it was something like $30.00 extra a month for 40mb of data or $40 for unlimited.

while you do NOT get tethering as an official service from Sprint with the SERO plan, I know a few people that have had success with PDANet. The Motorola Q9C is using Windows Mobile 6 which should be compatible with the program.

Amicold already answered. They come preactivated linked to your account with a number assigned to your account.

Hi, I have a samsung A900. I have had no problem tethering it to my laptop and my Palm TX. You need to use it as a data modem with the #777 as the phone number.

I wanted a Blackberry, but apparently you can't get the SERO plan w/BB without having at least the $30/mo BB addition plan.

I'm probably going to jump on a Q9C..anyone want to talk me out of it?

Been using Wmwifirouter program on my mogul with the new firmware (gps/revA) for a while now. I have been at girlfriends relatives place on vacation for 10 days and they have no internet so I just use this program to tether my phone via wifi.

The great thing about it is it supports DHCP over wifi (even though it's adhoc!) so you can have multiple users. Girlfriend and I have been on the internet simultaneously with no problems. Not the fastest in the world but sure beats dial up.

I clocked it at about 2.8mbit down and 768k up with a full signal.

Sprint is going to hate me for data usage this month...

i signed in to my sero account and i was able to upgrade to the instinct for 129ar, requiring a 2 yr contract. i didn't pull the trigger because i was afraid my other discounts would vanish once i extended my current contract with a phone upgrade. will they leave everything intact on your account or start your sero plan from scratch?

I'm on the SERO 500 plan and love it. Signed up my girlfriend and her bro last year.

Anyways, I'm looking to sign up some other family members within the next month, but notice that at the SERO website, it says there's "Unlimited Text Messaging through 7/13/08", does that mean:

A) That Unlimited Txt messages will be included in all new sign-ups prior to 7/13/08
or
B) The unlimited txt messaging feature will expire on 7/13/08 for all SERO accounts?

If it's B), that would kind of stink...

Hellfire, since i've been looking on this and FW's forum regarding this (18 months or so), the free txt's has always been available, but shows an expiration date of when the offer will end. Each time the same offer is offered again afterwards, and lasts 3 months or so.

Sprint? You ought to be kidding? These guys are the 2nd worse in the cell phone service after AT&T.

Find me a better deal, then we'll talk.

There is no better deal, so I can't help but root for Sprint. It's sad to see them lose so many subscribers. I can see why though if the SERO plan did not exist. When I recently re-upped my contract, I ordered an HTC Mogul. On the phone the rep. told me that I would get a $50 invoice credit as per permission from her supervisor. When my next bill showed up, sure enough...it wasn't there. I called Sprint and one rep. spent 10 minutes in silence looking at the notes on my account. Apparently, the rep. who sold me the phone did not write down the discount. Surprise, surprise. Then suddenly the call cut off and I was routed back into the hold line and I spoke to a brand new rep. who had no idea about my previous conversation. He was a bit more helpful. ECare did take care of me and they re-upped my contract again and gave me a credit.

Their customer service is just pitiful. Most of the time I can hardly understand them (they are english as a second language folks).

After making numerous attempts talking to their representative, I escalated the situation and wanted to speak with the CEO. The secretary transferred to upper management, they handled my situation well. That's after about 4 hours trying to resolve this issue that could of been easily resolved within 1 hour. Definitely a test of patience for me.

Just ordered the 500min with a Palm Centro. I submitted multiple times, as it kept rejecting my AE card- ended up using a different card after trying a few times. I hope they didn't slaughter my credit by rechecking for every order attempt...

Does the SERO plan come with GPS like the non-SERO unlimited plans?

I noticed the Curve isn't available on the sprint site anymore. I wonder if they're out of stock...

What happened to the Motorola Q and Q9c?

I was about to go in on one of these, but now they're not available...
