what is the best way to get this SERO plan for existing users? I have been out of my 2yr contract since 3/2005. Who should I speak to? I want to keep my existing number as well.

As mentioned many times before in this thread if you are already with sprint then they wont let you keep your existing number. You will need to open a entirely new account seperate from the one you have. From my experience Sprint's customer service said your not supposed to have multiple accounts even though I have done it many times.

The only thing that MIGHT work, but doubtful, is to go to another provider and open an account with say Cingular, transfer your number from existing Sprint account to Cingular then open a new account with Sprint on the sero plan and transfer the number from cingular to Sprint then Cancel Cingular with their 15 or 30 day return policy or whatever they have. I personally wouldnt suggest this but if you are serious about keeping your current number and getting the SERO plan then this is the only option (if possible).

btw just to let you all know I received my treo700wx and plan but the 7pm nights were NOT on my account, I simply called up sprint and showed them on the site where it said 7pm nights and they added 7pm nights for $5 then are just crediting me $10 a month so I get this for even cheaper! I need to look into that txt messaging though....

So who here is a recent new Sero user and has gotten their bill?

I am curious about the Unlimited web access, email, and instant messaging.

Here are the terms:
Customers who choose a Power Vision(sm) or Sprint PCS Vision(sm) phone will also receive:
- Unlimited Web access
- Unlimited email and instant messaging - AOL, MSN and Yahoo
- Unlimited Sprint PCS Picture Mail(sm) with Video Mail

I called sprint and they don't see option on my account. They also told me that if I've been using the web I would be charged 3 cents a kilobyte. I went into a Sprint store and they confirmed this as well.

I got the Black Katana phone and I was under the impression that I would have unlimited web access

Maybe the Katana is not an eligble phone. Any thoughts?

I signed onto the SERO plan about ten days after the thread posted here IIRC. I've since converted a total of three accounts over to SERO from a standard Sprint rate plan. Every one of them has been billed perfectly. Granted, it took a lot of phone calls to get the accounts switched over, but it was worth the savings.

I signed up at the end of December and got an LG fusic phone and unlimited web access/email. I do NOT have the text messaging, although I got a couple of hundred for free because the reception here is less than 1 bar although their coverage maps claims excellence for this address.

I am more concerned about the unlimited web access.

I paid 5 dollars for 300 SMS messages, but I've been using the web accces and the Gmail application.

If the unlimited web access doesn't kick in, they will charge me 3 cents per KB. The gmail application alone was 130KB.

the catch about sero plans is that the internet option only applies to ev-do enabled phones. katana has vision but not POWER vision, therefore you don't really have the sero plan.

I'm not sure if someone mentioned this or not, but you can get $25 within the first 15 days by dialing #733 from your phone. Follow the instructions and enter in a Sprint phone number. Both will get a $25 giftcard.

Please do not ask or give referrals in this thread.

I have been with SprintPCS since 1999.

My contract was up in October of this year (I had previously upgraded my phone every two years, thereby extending my contract.)

I signed up for the SERO plan, but started a new account. I had to wait on hold for quite some time, but I could tell the gentleman I was speaking with was working hard to contact another department to get everything ironed out for me.

After I received my new phone and activated it I contacted customer service and inquired about porting my number over to my new phone. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and extremely helpful. I told her I thought so and that I appreciated her assistance and her demeanor. (I train customer service and tech support people for a living, and I am highly critical toward their telephone mannerisms.)

Not only did she help me get my number ported over from my old account, but she also noticed I had a discount through my company with Sprint (which I never expected to work with the SERO plan). She brought this to my attention and ADDED it to my service. So not only am I getting the SERO plan on my old number with a great A900 phone for only ~$33.00 a month (taxes, fees, etc.) but I also get my company discount!

I hear a lot of people badmouth Sprint, and I know you can get cruddy reps sometimes, but it doesn't hurt to be kind. Sometimes you have to be firm with them, but often I find that if I open the call on a very business/casual/friendly tone, I have great success with getting exactly what I need.

So you CAN get your number ported over to your new account if you currently have an account and want to get the SERO option.

I had Sprint. It is clear, but the building penetration was TERRIBLE. I actually paid to get out of my contract to switch to another service.

Just ask them.

Seriously man, I just told them I was a new subscriber and have been satisfied so far, but would make it even better would be ot have free sms texts.

They said since my sero plan has a lot of free crap included, they cannot add anymore stuff.

Perhaps I should have stated 500 texts?

nope, I just asked em, they gave me that crap about all the free stuff with sero too. You just gotta stick it to them and threaten to leave sprint if they arent able to do some type of free text messaging.

A trick too is to make sure you call in "technical problems" too so that the last call on your ticket isnt requesting text messages. They see like your last couple of calls so you gotta fill them will Tech issues and then call later asking for text msgs

Yeah, 15-day is very short. You might still try to see if it works. My $25 Visa Debit card came in the mail today and it only took 3 weeks after dialing #733.

Does anyone know if you must purchase one of the following listed phones to get the free data (web access) plan in this SERO program?
--------------------------------------------
Power Vision(sm) Phones available: Samsung A940, Samsung A900, Sanyo MM-9000, Sanyo MM-7500

Sprint PCS Vision(sm) Phones available: LG VI-125, LG PM-225, Samsung VI-A820, Sanyo VI-2300, LG PM-325, Samsung PM-A840, Sanyo MM-8300, Samsung MM-A880, PalmOne Treo 650
--------------------------------------------

This list came from the Employee Referral Offer terms but it seems the list is outdated as none of those phones are listed in the wireless store when you click the link to see 'more phones' (not even the featured Motorola KRZR).

Thanks! This is a terrific offer

** EDIT -- nevermind, I saw the EV-DO post above ... the phone features will tell you if it's EV-DO capable, so make sure the phone is if you want the Sprint Vision or Power Vision package added free.

hmm, i was denied service because I "failed" at answering the anti fraud questions on the phone with the sprint rep. I went into the sprint store and he said because of the "fraud matrix system" that sprint has, I was automatically denied for answering the anti fraud questions wrong (which I am 100% sure I got right, it was stuff like, have you ever lived at .... address, or had ...... as a phone number) The guy at the sprint store said I either got nervous and got the questions wrong, or somebody stole my social security number which is how they went about the questions. I was like" WTF" is there anything I can do, anyone else higher I can talk to? He said no, absolutely not, and that I can try for service again in 60 days. I am so pissed right now..
