Hi guys, please excuse the 'hook me up' post here. I'm currently at work and am at the end of my contract with T-Mobile. I would like to get in on this offer. I have read that users were able to get Treos for a great price, and I love my Treo650. I wouldn't mind a 750 but if all they have is the 700, then that's fine too. I would like to know:

-How can I get the best price (Referral, kellog (?) Rebate, sprint rebate).

-Can I use my Treo 700 WX as a "Bluetooth" modem and use my internet on my laptop, like I could with my Nokia 3650 (way oldskool).

-How fast the internet speeds are. T-Mobile uses GRPS (puke) which is soooo slow,
cingular and co. use EDGE which is MUCH nicer. Do you guys know which one sprint users?

-Do I have to pay anything additional to get my emails live pushed onto my Treo?

-Can Sprint just take away our free internet or make it much slower w/o us being able to cancel our contract?

Thanks in advance!

1. $249 - $100 sprint - $75 kellog - $25 refer = $50
2. Yes, buy PDANET
3. It's about 200 kbps a little faster than edge
4. No
5. Actually, you're supposed to pay ~$40/m for the data plan, but using that software is a backdoor.

Just got my referral card, you can refer up to 12 people in a year, for a total of $300. I have 11 more to give out this year It's pretty sweet though.

Tell them that you are trying out Sprint and you are not sure you want to keep it since your old plan from (insert company) had free txt messaging. Ask them if they could give you 500 txt/mo to keep you as a customer. Make sure you do this before you port your number over.

Dear Gxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting us about the Sprint Employee Referral Offer.

New Sprint customers are eligible for all SERO offers and are also eligible to port their phone number from their existing wireless carrier over to Sprint.

Current Sprint customers are eligible for SERO offers only if they are opening a NEW Sprint account or establishing a new line of service. Sprint customers cannot convert an existing Sprint account to a SERO offer or port an existing Sprint phone number to a SERO offer.

Sprint Employees who are currently employee-liable and receive the 25 percent discount are eligible to swap their plan by calling the Employee Accounts Group at (888) 876 8381.

SERO offers are only available for phones that are also purchased through the SERO website at the point of sale. Phones that are not offered on the SERO website or previously owned phones cannot subscribe to a SERO offer. Please visit www.sprint.com/sero for a detailed listing of phones, including prices and features, available through the SERO Program. The prices are subject to change and cannot be combined with any other discounts or rebates.

To sign up for a SERO program offer, please visit www.sprint.com/sero. Customers are required to provide their zip code as well as the business email address of the Sprint Employee that referred them to the SERO program. Once logged into the SERO site, there are step by step instructions for selecting a SERO phone and plan that best suit your needs.

We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further assistance.

YMMV on switching an existing plan, but this plan is foolproof:

1. Buy a $20 pre-paid phone at WalMart.
2. Port your number to it.
3. Go to SERO site and sign up.
4. Port your number into SERO from your prepaid.

Problem solved. Unless of course you would incure ETF

BTW I've been on SERO for a year now and just got my new Upstage. I had the Q for a few eeks but absolutely hate it lol. YMMV of course.

Ive no issues at all adding or subtracting services, and I love the unlimited data

The data service is EVDO (also used by Verizon). Revision A is the fastest speed available in the US...maxing out at 1.5 Mbps. I am currently writing this using the wireless broadband card. In EVDO RevA coverage I usually get 1.2 Mbps, outside about 150 kpbs. The coverage is expanding and should cover ~250 million people in the US by the end of the year.

Let me know if anyone needs a valid email address for the SERO offer (hint)

Did I understand that the 700P is more desirable than the 750 due to the 700 using EVDO Rev."A" and the 750 not being able to use the Rev. "A"?

Sprint has some new phones available now. They have a new Treo, the 750 I think. But it's not available through the SERO website...

Still no camera-less smartphones except for the (way too expensive) IP-830W. Argh!

The Treo 700p can't use EVDO Rev. A, and neither can the Treo 755p.

There is an option when signing up for this deal to transfer my current number over to Sero. I am currently a Sprint customer with a few months left on my contract. They have an option to switch my sprint number over. How would that work on my current account? Would Sprint cancel my current number and charge me the $150 early termination fee?

it can, unless the employee is gone or the generic is killed. Besides, we have a contest right now, so I can use the boost.

does anyone know if you need the original UPC from the kelloggs cereal box for the kelloggs rebate or just the sprint phone?
