Having problems getting my Moto Q activated on the Sero $30 plan. The guy I talked to said the Moto Q is not compatible as it is not a 3G phone that it is a EVDO phone or something. He's going to call me back in 10 minutes, but it's been 30 already. I wonder what else is going to go wrong. 2 days ago I received a call from SPrint's order department by a guy I could barely understand his English. He calls and says they can't mail out my phone until I make a payment of $100 even though when I ordered my phone I paid $199. He said some BS about the rebate still needed to be paid up front and I was like "I know that's why I paid $199 instead of $99 since the $100 rebate was a mail in rebate. He was insistant that I needed to pay an additional $100 and I got pissed and called customer service. After an hour they got it straightened out but what a mess... I've had Sprint for over 3 years and this was the biggest cluster buck I've ever dealt with them. Update to follow once I actually am able to use my new phone.

unfortunately it happens, all the calls are outsourced to a third party company now, and training can be less then stellar. If you don't get the answer you want, hang up and call again, most likely the next person knows what to do.

Yeah that's what I generally do ROthschild. I did call customer service again as the guy never called me back. Got a new woman and she also said the phone wasn't compatible with the SERO plan. She said the MOTO Q needs the $49.99 plan but she got a supervisor and he also said I needed to upgrade to the $49.99 plan. I told him the initial guy told me that they can get a code for the sero plan and my phone and there won't be any changes to my plans features or price. He put me on hold and confirmed that there was a code for my phone even though my phone is not compatible with the plan. WHatever the case he was able to get it activated. I will find out once it is online.

use pdanet (to do it for free -- without signing up for a Phone As Modem plan)
remember that if you do this -- to use data sparingly to avoid being shutdown by sprint

i have treo 700p -- works great with sero and power vision
brother has 700wx -- works great with sero and power vision

the only caveat -- windows mobile devices do NOT support picture mail and do NOT support sprint TV

Kelloggs Rebate form says for phones $299.99 and up. Is this for the MSRP or what you actually paid?

Anybody use it on a phone that cost less than $299.99 for from Sero?
Kelloggs Rebate requires you to include receipt (from what I remember) so I think it only works on what you paid

I believe the PPC-6700 is the only phone that offers free tethering...
So I use PDA net, and the built Dial-up networking without any issues.

I got the plan on an LG Fusic, and then I bought the PPC-6700 off of ebay, and yes, I miss all of the Sprint Serices like Sprint TV, and the Satellite radio... but in exchange, I get "EXCHANGE\Push mail" tethering with my laptop\PAM, and the versatility of texting and surfing the web anywhere...

OK - I think I've squeezed every possible drop from this deal!

Moto Q phone: $79.99
Less Sprint rebate: -$100.00
Less Kelloggs rebate: -$75.00
Less Referral: -$25.00
Total for phone: -$120.01
Plus free headphones and mini SD card from Motorola

Sprint Sero Plan: $30.00
500 mins
Unlimited data
Unlimited Text messages
Less 26% corporate discount: $7.80
Total per month: $22.20

Luckily managed to get in between when the $79.99 Q was released and the unlimited text promo was started and when the Sero site switched to phone orders only - PHEW!

How did you get the referral discount?

What corp gives you a 26% discount?

This might have been asked already, but 60 pages is a lot to look through. Is there any way to change my existing Sprint account with a Nextel ic502 to the SERO plan? I know the answer is probably no, since it says you're not supposed to be able to change from one plan to SERO without adding a line, but I thought I'd ask if anybody had managed to do it anyway. Thanks.

Bwillis how did you get a $79 price recently. I bought last week and they charged me $199 but said the $100 mail in rebate brings it down to $99. Can I use 2 $100 rebates? This would suck if I am stuck paying $100 more for a phone others are getting for $79. I figured at most I'd be paying $20 more since I am not a new customer.

Geez, this keeps getting worse for me, the $25 referral rebate isn't working and I am assuming this is because of the upgrade and not a new line of service. I knew I should have cancelled my Nextel service and then a new line would be needed and they would treat me as a new customer instead of an upgrade. Now I'm stuck in the 2 year contract... With my luck the $75 Kellogs rebate and the $100 Sprint rebate will not work for me either.

I just signed up and got the Razr V3m, they told me I was approved for up to 5 lines. It's an additional $30/month/line, but hey, it's not bad. When you figure a family plan from Cigular is about $50 or more and then $10 per additional line + text messaging, web, etc it's pretty good for 2 lines.

They told me GPS was not included, it is $2.99 per day that you use it.

And in case someone knows, is there any chance I'm eligible for any more rebates on that V3m? I see people posting that they're getting $100 rebates on the Moto Q and such, but my understnading was that you sort of already get those rebates, but instantly with this SERO plan as opposed to mail-ins as a regular new customer.

I've been out of contract for a while and decided to get SERO today. I have 2 phones on a family plan. Was in the process of getting a new M1 through SERO when they had a problem getting my order through with my existing family plan. I said I would cancel Sprint and reorder later. They called me back 15 minutes later and switched my existing family plan to two separate SERO plans keeping the existing numbers and gave me a 10% monthly discount.

However, I went to the Sprint store to pick up two new phones but they couldn't switch the IDs to them on my current plan. Kept saying I had to get a different, more expensive plan with less features to use the phones I wanted. I tried customer care and ordered by phone. I really hope it works...

Need help to exchange phone for a recent order

I just ordered two phones under the SERO plan by calling the toll-free number, since new orders can no longer be placed on the SERO website. The new phone arrived last Friday. I don't like one of the two phones and would like to exchange it for a different model. So far I've spent four hours one the phone, talking to various people to get the phone replaced, including customer service (sprint, nextel, and inphonic), sale support, SERO order line, and even employee account service. No body was able to help me or tell me where to send the phone back to. Does anyone know how I can return a phone? This is very frustrating.

You'll have to return it to a Sprint corporate store -- one that deals in Sprint products only .. check their website or call to find the closest store.

I just went through this whole ordeal with their CS phone system (which took 2 hrs or so to resolve) so I feel your pain.

G'luck

Is anyone else having trouble getting the free unlimited texting? It's the main reason I went for this deal, and it turns out the rep didn't sign me up for it, even though I specifically confirmed it was included. I called regular CS and they were unable to do it.
