I waited until today to order my phones,
Now I am having problems getting them to transfer/port my existing phone numbers over to 2 new SERO plans.
I talked with 2 ladies so far at the number from the SERO website, 1st lady said no, second lady was nice, she went through the trouble of explaining that even though I was out of contract they couldn't port my numbers because I had existing accounts, and she tried to help, but she ended up directing me to customer care at 888-211-4727, now I am in a 20 minute wait for a representative. ON HOLD
**update after about 20 minutes, talked to lady in customer service, she spoke decent but broken english, she wanted me to talk to sales dept. to get the phones first then switch the lines, I transferred to sales dept., then I explained the plan I wanted to sales dept. with the purchase of the new phones and she said she would have to transfer me to employee purchase department. BACK ON HOLD
Hung up after a menu that took me nowhere
** Update **
Called back to normal *2 number, said "Cancel" got transferred to the "Business account services/cancellation department" (I guess this is retentions?)
Talked to a guy named Rick, ( I have his ID but wont post it here) he was pretty nice, I explained I wanted 2 lines transferred to SERO and keep my number. he said sorry can't do it. I told him help me out, what does he suggest. I was being nice, he was being nice. I told him, "think about it, I am going to have to port my number to another carrier and then port it back just to get on the SERO plan, where is the sense in that." He agreed, said that SERO is supposed to be a plan just to bring in new customers, but obviously people have found a way around that... so I asked him if he could help me out, he said he could give me a similar plan, but it would not be "SERO" I told him thats fine, get me something similar. So... he worked this up,
$29.99 plan with 450 minutes
added extra 100 minutes to make it 550
added unlimited text
added power vision (I wasn't sure, so I confirmed that this was unlimited data for the entire plan, not some 6 month free trial)
Nights and Weekends start at 7pm
Mobile to mobile included
2 mogul phones with $150 instant rebates
He told me I qualify for the $50 service credit, but that he couldn't add that. (Just like other people have posted, retentions apparently has limits now on what they can provide as far as service credits)
He told me to just call back in and ask for the $50 credit
I also had a 22% corporate discount on the old plan for 3 lines, he said that he can work it in but it will not show up as the 22% corporate discount, he will just reduce the amounts somehow so it will be about the same. He said the plan will be right at $30 before taxes and it seems like I actually come out better than the SERO plan.
Also, I had 3 lines total, 2 were out of contract and 1 was in a newer contract (didn't qualify for the $75 credit even) but he switched all 3 lines over to this $30 plan. SO I should pay about $90-$100 which is just under what I pay now, BUT I get more minutes and unlimited text and data which is the main thing I am interested in for email and web.
So now its been about 2 hours jacking around with these CSRs
I ended up using cancellation/retentions department to get a similar deal and I am happy,
I couldn't get the mogul with the $110 service credit, I even asked about how sellers on Ebay could sell the mogul for $99.
When I call back in for the $50 credit I will ask again about the $110 credit for the mogul.
I also read on another forum that the mogul DOES do tethering and there is a way so sprint can't tell its tethered, but I am still trying to find out how....
sorry for the long post, but that was my experience.
I either got really screwed over and wont tell until the bill comes, or I got a good deal.... We will see
