One thing I'm still unsure of is that I have unlimited text on my phone now but when people say unlimited text till 7/13 does that mean it will run out or am I good until my contract runs out?

Ordered a M510 (pink) yesterday for my daughter...........

The CSR said the promotion ofr free text was supposed to end bu Sprint is still allowing her to add it. Took 28 minutes to order a phone with no wait time.

While I love my plan 750 Peak, Nights at 8pm and a 23% corp discount on my $39.99 plan it's time to upgrade to SERO for myself. I just need to port the dam number to a prepaaid phone.

I've been following this thread and need some suggestions on which phone to choose:

So far I'm considering the following models but I'm open to suggestions:
Samsung A900
Moto Q
Treo
Mogul

1) Functionality wise, I'm going to use it mostly as a phone. Although PDA functionality would be nice, it's not a requirement.

2) I plan on tethering to my laptop via Bluetooth (or USB) to surf the net using EVDO.
Which phones can do this without tethering detected? If it's necessary I'm ok with purchasing PDANet for $34.

3) What's the best cell phone to watch Slingbox or Orb video content? I take public transportation to/from work and it would be nice to watch some TV while on the bus.

Hi Ross,

I'm using a 700p myself. While PDANet does have a proxy mode which allows you to tether undetected, this mode is buggy and may require relaunching/reconnecting to the network several times if you're browsing complicated webpages. If you're considering this, i'd recommend trying the demo out before purchasing.

I'm using the regular Dialup PDANet mode with SprintPCS/sero, and so far my occasional tethering hasn't raised any flags with Sprint.

As I understand it, there are some files you can install on the Treo that allows you to accomplish the same thing as PDANet proxy mode (undetectable tethering), but I haven't had a chance to try this yet.

So the unlimited texting is no longer listed on the website, is there anyway that i could still get this? I am so pissed that I waited to jump on this, I didn't wanna pay the cancellation for for AT&T but I'm so fed up with their service now I just want out.

I just tried. No free text messaging for me. They said they couldn't even add it to the system, it would give an error.

I just tried. No free text messaging for me. They said they couldn't even add it to the system, it would give an error.

a friend of mine did it on tuesday, they said the CSR said it didn't come up automatically, but were able to add it without a problem

I called and got the unlimited text. She said it was running to the 17th. They said they had a problem giving me all the money off my phone, so I got $100 credit to the account and had to pay $100 more up front which kinda sucked.

Oh well, 3 months of free service isn't too bad.

thanks for letting me know. I emailed their eCare support, and they added it on my plan no problem.

However for the people that got any coupon codes to work, any tricks? I emailed them with the code (SAVE50) and plan but they responded that it wouldn't let them put it into the system. Has anyone successfully used that code?

Haha - I had merely posted what I expected to happen, still waiting for all the stars to align.

To answer your question about the Kelloggs rebate, if you go to http://www.sprintrebates.com/track/sprintpcs/index.jsp

And type in a bogus phone number, you will get a search screen asking for first name, last name and zipcode - it shows both my regular sprint rebate request and the kelloggs request

Another place to see phone details is http://wirefly.com but they charge, and right now im in the middle of a contract extention. They want to charge me to keep my old phone number. $49.99. Come on, its not like i cant go get another phone off of ebay, and put my sim card in it, and have a working new phone. Just beware of hidden charges.
