Yep, for that price just order one off the web.

I originally got a Treo 700wx, returned it and got the Mogul. Its such a faster phone and WM6 is so much better, but the reception is worse! Sitting in my office I could make and receive calls just fine with the Treo having 1 or 2 bars. With the Mogul I'm at no bars, and can't receive calls.

I'm so bummed.

It was from a promotion earlier this year, but it's still valid.

I also want to mention that I've been on SERO since April and I called yesterday to add unlimited text messaging and the rep took care of it in 2 minutes. I had been paying $5 a month extra for 300 texts a month, and I just got umlimited texts added for free, so my bill is back to $30 a month. I'm happy.

I'm thinking of doing that too. But I have a major concern. I just ordered SERO yesterday. (the 12th), and it's still in processing. Now the 100$ rebate expires on the 14th. It asks for the packaging slip/sales receipt to be marked on/before the 14th. If the order doesnt ship by then...will the rebate be invalid? I'm not sure if the order date is what they look for...or the date when the actually finish processing and send it out.

Secondly...like GtPrOjEcTX I'm thinking of returning my TREO for the Mogul...now this exchange can't possibly happen by the 14th. What should I do?? How should I work with the rebate form?? (Am assuming the rebate will require a packaging slip from the Mogul, on which the date's probably gonna be after the 14th).

Hopefully I can clear a few things up for you.

If you're concerned about getting the Mogul by the 14th so that it will qualify for the $100 MIR, don't worry, because it doesn't even apply to the Mogul. Look at the phones listed on the MIR and you will see that the 6800/Mogul isn't on there. It does not work with the rebate. However, it will still work with the $75 Kelloggs MIR.

If you want the $100 rebate to apply, keep the Treo.

After trading up for the Mogul myself, here's a mini pro con.

Lighter than the Treo

Slide out keyboard (although also a negative, because the keys aren't illuminated very well, thus making it very hard to use in very low light)

2.0 Megapixel camera with flash, instead of 1.3 without flash.
Hookup for charging it is the same as the hookup to sync it to the computer, which means when you hook it up the computer via the usb, it also charges the battery. The Treo had a power cable, and a sync cable, but to charge it while attached to the computer you had to hook up 2 cables to it.
Cons
Cheaper quality construction than the treo. You can tell its made of cheaper plastic and less sturdy. This also makes it kind of creak when you're holding it.
Since it is faster, the battery life isn't as good. It was at 30% when I was coming home from work after a normal day's use. I'll probably end up having to buy another battery.
And repeating poorly illuminated keyboard.
Also the speakerphone isn't nearly as good, on calling and receiving end. You have to turn it down 2 clicks from the max volume on the speaker or it will distort, and at that volume, if there is any other noise around you, you won't hear your phone conversation.


When sitting at my desk at work, I have 0 bars with the Mogul and am unable to receive calls. When I had the Treo, i had 1-2 bars and could receive calls without any problem.

You ordered it at nearly midnight on Friday.
If you had ordered it by 5p they would have shipped it the same day, and depending on the carrier, you might have had a Saturday delivery although most likely on Monday.

So, from Friday -> Monday = 3 days, Tuesday being 4 days.
They most likely wouldn't process shipping until Monday, then next day it and receive it Tuesday (4 days)

So where's the issue?

I don't know if the order exchange would be processed today. When I called to exchange phones, that line of customer service had a horrible overload of traffic. I had to wait 50 minutes on hold before I could talk to anyone and another 10 minutes after I told her what I wanted for her to set it up.

That would be something to ask the CS rep, when it will get processed.

I've said the same thing to my wife. I wanted to get the Treo, but it was $199 a week ago, now its $299. I was going to wait to see if another rebate came about and as time goes by they'll drop prices eventually.

For checking, go to fatwallet.com and search for sero from the front page, you'll find a news item about sero and it will have a link to the thread that regards this. the first post is pretty good about being up to date. The reason I told you to go through all those steps to get to it instead of just linking it is because at one point in time the Mods didn't want people linking to other forums from AT, and a Mod would remove the links. I don't know if that still is the case or not.

just an fyi for people that got in on the unlimited txt messages, when you get your bill check your account. I bought 3 lines, and was offered unlimited free txt's when i ordered and i noticed over $40 of misc charges on my account which were txt messages. it seems though they offered me unlimited txt messages they didn't bother actually putting it on my account. i checked with a friend who also got in on the deal and they were also charged for their txt messages even though he was given free txt's

The 6700 rebate is different,...thats what the 2nd link is for

I think the first is supposed to lead to sprint rebate form....like it says :

Save $200 or more on select handsets by completing and mailing in the Mail in Rebate form for your device.

Will call em on Monday to see if there's hope

Take note everyone. While some seem to be getting honest deals, Sprint is not holding to their deals with many of us.

Check your bills, I added the five dollar 300 text plan and then got unlimited added for 8 bucks, but they never bothered removing the original so the fees were stacked.
