That's the question of all questions.

Good Luck!

I still got 1.8 years left for me! I'm hoping it will be a hell of a lot cheaper by that time! Time will tell.

Hmm I wonder the same thing. I want a new phone. I was actually looking at the Instinct, but I know they make you upgrade your plan to the new one. You can't have an Instinct and a sero plan. I assume they won't let you do it with the Diamond.

Ive been on the sero plan for about 1 1/2 yrs. I'm planning on leaving sprint to T-mobile. Sprint & Verizon don't have many choices in phones. With T-mobile, i can just take my sim card out and put it into a new phone. Another reason i'm planning on getting a t-mobile phone is because i can use it out of the U.S.

It takes about 5 minutes to activate a new phone with Sprint (I've done it a couple of times). And they do have a pretty good amount of phones.

I believe what PaidLess means is you can take any unlocked sim card phone and add your sim card for use. I have T-Mobile (until my new Sprint phone arrives) and use a Samsung Blackjack which T-Mobile doesnt offer, at least here in my area. I bought an unlocked one off craigslist about a year ago for $100 and popped my sim card into it...

From what im gathering, Sprint doesnt use a sim card?

Sprint and Verizon run CDMA networks so, no, they don't use SIM cards.

Only AT&T and T-Mobile are your big carriers that run GSM networks.

got my new phone today, Samsung ACE which is very similar to my old Blackjack. The sound quality of the ACE isnt as good as the Blackjack though. Sprint left me a day without an active number since they lagged a day or two on shipping my phone. It was also a hassle to activate the phone online (it just would work) so I had to drive to a local Sprint store. Internet works fine.
Before I get another 10 people asking me about the $25 referral thing, I asked, it wont work.

apparently it will. they provide an upgrade discount on the phone ($75 after 1 year of service, $150 after 2 years) and then once you buy a new phone, you'll get extended another two years.

so i have my palm treo 700p since april 07, converted to sero in july 07 (hard as !@#$ to do especially since i was still under contract with sprint and i STILL managed to get into sero), and now i have a $75 credit towards any phone.

I *believe* the answer is yes, but won't know for certain for about another week in my case. I originally signed up for SERO in July 2006 & just ordered a new phone with plan renewal. While it took a few calls (always seems to with Sprint Customer Service), eventually I got them to fix my account through retention.

My account was 7 PM Nights/Weekends, but at the time (two years ago) they had to set it up to charge me $5.00 each month, then issue a credit to match. (At the time, 7 PM N&W wasn't yet standard with SERO, had to negotiate it.) Finally got that fixed, along with 1000 text messages included. My girlfriend signed up for SERO just before they eliminated it, so I asked them to match the plans (which, for regular customer service, was like pulling teeth). On about the fifth person we made some headway & got it (relatively) correct. I don't have unlimited text messages like her but 1000 is more than enough.

Once I have the new phone & everything's working, I'll post an update.

SERO is dead now and the new plan is called the "simply everything" plan.

Minimu price is now 59.99 a month which includes data as well. so an awesome deal for crackberry users, but not so cool for norma users

Also SERO plan has been grandfathered, so that rate will be the same for all of us who got in on it.

Sup all,

Just have a quick question. I just tried to upgrade my phone thru the Sprint Web site and it gives out the following error message:

The following errors were found while processing your request
This account has been identified as Sprint Wireless Advantage Club account, which is entitled to special Sprint employee program discounts that are not supported on this website. In order to take advantage of your entitled savings, the Sprint employee sponsoring this Advantage Club account should perform this upgrade through the Advantage Club online store via the Sprint i-Connect intranet site or visit a Sprint campus retail store on either the Overland Park or Reston campus.

Is there a way to get to the site where I can do the upgrade?

I know this sounds weird but I need someone who is currently an Sprint Rep that have access to the Sprint I-Connect intra-website.

Apparently I cant upgrade my busted phone unless a current rep can do so on the Sprint intra-website. Can anyone help me with this?

That's true. I have a sprint wireless advantage club account as well and the only way to upgrade phones is through the internal sprint employee web site. You need to contact who ever got you the advantage club account to upgrade your phone. Only the person that setup your account will be able to do it. All advantage club accounts are part of the sprint employee's account, they are even responsible for your bill if you don't pay!

Really?! .. I was on the SERO plan until ppl started to get the free text msgs offer with it, called in about it and got it but I notice the name change but nothing else .. then I tried to upgrade my phone they go off saying only employees can make the upgrade. This is going to be frustrating experience.

To be fair, we were exploiting a Sprint loophole , unless you got in with legitimate referral.

Yea what i meant is .. While being a T-Mobile or Cingular user, You can take out your sim card from your Cingular/T-Mobile phone and put it into a phone from overseas and use it over there or vice versa. Yea Sprint and Verizon don't use sim cards. Only other company that use sim cards are Nextel and they joined up with Sprint.

So if I joined the SERO plan using 'support@sprintemi.com' as my referral email address, what does that mean for upgrades for me? It's not a specific Sprint employee's address so can any SERO support rep do an upgrade for me?
