My order is in testing as of today and I'm very iffy about the $300 MIR too but my sales rep said I they should still honor it because it's not my fault that the 8100 is outta production and that I placed my order before the MIR deadline and I should take it up with CS if I have problems. . .

Does anyone know where I can get the plug for the power? I have the fellowes Car Adapter and have been unable to find the right connector. I am thinking about building my own if I can find the odd plug this unit takes.

Why waste your money on an overpriced adapter? You can get an inverter for $20 - $40 that will power it just fine.

There is a thread here on hot deals about a 400watt inverter for $28.97 at Sam's Club.

I have an Inverter. The problem is that they are noisy with the fan. I already have the DC to DC converter. I can get the part that connects to the Converter at Radio Shack, I just need the side that goes into the laptop.
