Anyway, I went to three Staples' and all of them had 1200ses in stock.

Staples #1: No, we cannot pm internet offers.
Staples #2: No, we cannot pm office max if they are out of stock.
Staples #3: No, we cannot pm because it seems too good a price.

I will be visiting all of them again at different hours.

I actually called my local Staples to see if they would pricematch OM because our local OM closed and the closest one is about 60 minutes away. Even if they didn't, I live only 30 minutes from that OM and could go there, but Staples is on my way home from work. Anyway, the Sales rep referred me to the manager and he said he had received a memo stating that OM's price was a mistake because HP sets the prices of their printers and OM was in trouble with HP. He went on to say that the memo said they could price match, because being a pricematch, they would'nt get in trouble with HP and they had plenty in stock but he expected them to go fast. I picked mine up and the sales rep verified the pricematch with the manager and he Ok'd it. I had found a printable $30 off $150 coupon on chubby back pocket stuffers and the manager said OK to that too!

So: $300 - $110 (pm) - $30 (c) + $9.60 tax = $169.58 total!!!

This was great timing because I was looking for this printer this weekend for my wife's office and the best price was $349. Their 5 year old LaserJet 1100 is dying and a maintenance kit is $159. I left town Sunday and returned Tuesday to find this thread. Only $10 more than the maintenance kit for a new, faster, better printer!

Told my mom about this deal, so she could pick up this printer for our home (Im in college right now, so theres no way I could get to an Office Max without a car).

Apparently she called a local OfficeMax and asked if they had the 1200se in stock. The lady who answered said that the local Office Max was out of stock, but gave my mom a phone# to call the order in at the B&M $199 price. My mom called this phone order #, and applied the a $30 off $150 OM coupon....

The manager was super nice and asked me if I would like to take the HP 3330 for $200.00. I was like "Is it true???". But anyway, got this baby for $215.00 out of the door.

Yep. This is exactly what I got in OM B&M. Gosh, cannot believe they are selling it for $700 online. I got the impression that this all-in-one is the substitute for HP 1200 when I talked to the manager today.

I just looked to actually see what the 3300 is...Come on, that can't really be any official substitution printer...I mean, I could imagine another standard laser printer, but not an all-in-one like that...Makes no sense...

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'll be VERY surprised...

I heard that a memo came out from Corporate HQ to the Staples stores that they are to honor the OM ad even though they know that OM is out of stock everywhere, so you might want to try your local Staples store again and mention that meno.

Update : I have confirmed that Staples will PM the OfficeMax price, no ad needed, no need for OfficeMax to have it in stock, just mention the memo and you will get the $199.99 price.
