there is a 50 pack of CDR's for free after $15 in rebates...which would get the price over $100

Won't you need $20.01 instead of $10.01 to get the total over $100 after the IR?

Does anyone know if the k-byte memory will work in a ECS K7S5A board? I am going to upgrade a friends computer and this is a good price.

Thanks

Hmm, looking at the OM Link to the memory:

Double Data Rate Memory is built on the same architecture as PC100 and PC133 SDRAM. DDR modules have 168 pins. The advantage of DDR memory is that it doubles your memory bandwidth over PC133 SDRAM providing you with increased performance. Check your computer's requirements for whether you can use PC266 memory.
Now, probably just a misprint, but, if it is 168pins you better be sure you can use it w/ your motherboard, as far as I know DDR starts at PC2100 spec and is 184pins. Crucial.com example.

So, is this PC2100 RAM?

You could also try this at the B&M with a printable coupon without having to buy so much FAR stuff. I think there is a $15 off $50 or $75 Staples or Office Depot coupon around somewhere...

Knowing OM, it's most likely a typo. To my knowledge DDR is 184-pin for desktops and 200-pin for laptops.

Are there different speed PC2100 modules like with PC133? If so, is it worth adding this 256MB to my Crucial 512MB in my PC now if it slows down all the memory?

I think it has to be PC133 - if you look over the site, they don't appear to offer anything except PC133 (SDRAM) from what I can tell. That's the only options you have.

Time to look elsewhere...

What makes you think it is PC133? Website and BOTH rebates clearly say DDR. I took the plunge.

No Omax near me, so I ordered online - should be here Monday.

Thanks!

Next time try reading the post at the beginning of the thread, if you had you would have seen the link to the K-Byte 256MB DDR memory.

I clicked on the link for the ddr. There's no $10 IR now or at least in Austin. I'm I missing something or is it for some other date? I need ddr soon. I paid $36 with shipping for crucial 256mb ddr before but maybe we won't see prices like that for a while.

Talking about deceptive advertisment!
There is no $24.99 anywhere here but in your imagination. Where is the tax, where are the postages for rebates, how do you know you'll get them, what is this about additional purchases to make extra coupon off $100.
Thanks for the "deal."
If you want the deal, go to Office Depot, one coupon, one rebate for Kingston DDR, 256 Mb. Almost certainly better memory than K-Byte and no fantasy combinations needed.

There is no reason to crap stevejst. I did this and it came out to 27.99 plus three stamps after rebates and taxes. I also got 50 cdrs and a phone for free.

Yes the Office Depot is a better deal but if you can't get that one then this one is almost just as good.

Stevejst,
Why thread crap? If you don't like the deal move on.

Stamps? DUH! How else you gonna mail anything?
Tax? DUH! if you have an office max in your state you might have to pay sales tax.
What if I don't get my rebate? DUH! Follow directions exactly, make copies of all materials, pursue relentlessly.
Extra purchases to get to $100? DUH! How else do you use a $25 off $100 coupon?

MysticMan1 continues to find and share these excellent deals. I'm glad to see he (or she) has a great sense of humor.

Thanks MysticMan1!

Amen, pigseye2!

I have been scouting around for a couple of weeks for a DOABLE DDR deal. The last two Office Depot offers were not available in my area, so even if they were free, it wouldn't matter.

Thanks MysticMan1!

Hey stevejst, quick Q re Kingston "almost certainly better memory than K-Byte"

Thanks for the heads up -- now, --
why is Kingston better then K-Byte, is it because K-Byte sucks or is it because the actual chips used are made somewhere else, by someone else (better quality, etc.)

And if anyone else knows specs regarding this, please share because we'll see other deals by both Kingston and K-Byrte so help us out.

Well went with OfficeDepot Kingston over OfficeMax K-Byte.

Got it today. Kingston brand used Hynix chips this time if that means anything to anybody.

Kingston and K-Byte both use different chip manufacturers for their RAM sticks but Kingston usually uses higher quality brands.
