Does anyone have a link to a working ICS build for the fire? I found one version, but on the comments of the website there were a large amount of people with bricked fires after attempting to install it. I'm hoping to not do that lol.

I would rather have a refurb one, they've been tested. I bought 1 each for my 2 kids for xmas and had to send both of them back once. One was for the touch screen issue that made it unusable and the other developed a blue line all the way across the screen after about 2 months. Amazon made the process painless though and it's a great device, for $139 you really can't go wrong.

Bought two. Price is too good even if I will mostly use it for my reading. Still on the lookout for a good 10" Android reader but this will do for the time being.

Edit: only drawback for me that I can see is the lack of SD support.

ICS ROMs for the Fire aren't ready for prime time yet. Perfectly happy with CM7 on my $139 Fire I found here in the previous deal.

Keep an eye open for a deal on a refurb Acer Iconia A500 tablet. They are sometimes on sale for fairly cheap. I bought a (non-refurbished) 16GB unit last July and like it a lot. Tegra2, 1GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, Micro-SD, HDMI, 2 USB ports (host and slave), 10-point multi-touch 10.1" capacitive screen, tennish hour battery life, etc. Acer released Android 4 / Ice Cream Sandwich for the A500 last week. It's a really nice tablet.

I picked one up when I woke up at 6am this morning. Knew not to wait because of how fast they went the last time they had this special. I'll definitely be throwing ICS on this. I've been checking out the cases they have had on special to go along with this and none really tickled my fancy.

i really wish the fire had bluetooth and gps. i know they had to keep the $200 price point but if it had those two features added to what it is now i would think it would be killer
