I noticed on the purchase email posted above is says " valueram " . Is all Kingstam ram called " valueram" or this is
their lower brand ?

If you are not sure what RAM your laptop takes, go to Crucial.com. They have a memory selector. Once you go through the memory selector and find your laptop, it will give you information about the RAM your laptop takes (PC133, PC2100, etc....)

well. the rating is not really meaningfull. Most complains are from people who got in the last Maxtor HD price mistake...... I have made a few other orders with them and all turned out to be fine.

Question... How is this "Value Ram" differ from the ones Kingston brings up for the HP ZE 4101?

Isnt notebook ram all the same as long as you match the "type" of ram?

I guess there is a physical size difference... some modules being smaller or bigger right?

I just ordered one and see if I'll get one

Forgive the stupid question, but just to make sure I understand what we're talking about here, this is the sort of memory I can stick into the Dell 4500 (Pentium 4, 1.8Ghz desktop machine) I bought this past summer, right?

I know that computer takes DDR PC2100 RAM; it's the "SO-DIMM 200-pin" part that I don't recognize right off the top of my head.

(No, I'm not just jumping on the deal for the sake of getting a great buy. I can honestly use an extra 512mb of RAM. Photoshop is a seductive mistress, but a most memory-hungry one.)

no, you cannot stick this in the desktop. Desktops take 184-pin ddr memory.

desktop PC: 184-pin DIMM

notebooks: 200-pin SODIMM

I dont think they ever had these in stock. Even when it was originally posted, it said ETA 11/15/02. Now it says 11/18/02. I would venture to say I was one of the first people to order this and my order is backordered.

Well, they cancelled my order for one stick, too. This is the second time Zones has done this on my order, and evidently they've done it before with the Maxtor drives, too. :disgust:

I guess I shouldn't expect too much from them; I've just gotten too used to other stores honoring their mistakes!
