Nice deal, however I was never a fan of the R series. Now give me a X61, T61p, or Z61m with the Titanium casing on the other hand.... /drool

As a current IBM employee, I can attest to the decline in quality of IBM-branded laptops since the Lenovo takeover. In my team (Proof of Concept Lab for WebSphere), we have a wide range of Thinkpads being used by people in the Lab and in the field. I had wanted to upgrade from my T40 (pre-Lenovo) to a dual-core, 4GB RAM T60. I quickly changed my mind after hearing numerous complaints from team members saying their T43s (post-Lenovo) and T60s were giving them BSODs much more than their T40s and T3x.

I have a question. Did anyone compared R61 and T61?
If you select the same configuration under T61 and R61, then the price will be SAME!!!
How could this happens? Should T series be much expensive?

Is it taxabnle if you ship in California? If not, then it looks better deal than buying from Dell.

I've been a huge fan of IBM/Lenovo laptops. I have personally owned a T42 for about 2 years and a T43 for about 6 months now. I also worked a few years for a company that had about 75 of the T41 - T43 series in the field. They were pretty reliable and most issues with them were hard drive related. Then Lenovo discontinued the T43 and replaced it with the T60. Sure it's newer and faster but IMO the T60 feels cheap compared the the T43. I don't like the new keyboard or mouse buttons either.

I've also owned and worked with Dell Latitudes in the past and IMO there is no comparison between IBM/Lenovo and Dell. The IBM/Lenovo keyboards are much nicer to type on and the construction feels much more sturdy to me and it has nothing to do with being an 'IBM snob' ( ). They're just solid laptops - or at least they were. I didn't get to use enough of the T60's to know how well they hold up yet. I do know my mom is using a 6-7 year old IBM lappy and the keyboard on that thing feels as good as my < 1 year old T43.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide between Dell and Lenovo. Although I played with Lenovo at Staples only, I have feeling that Lenovo's keyboard is better and laptop itself looks more solid. I have currently latitude. So my concern currently is how reliable is Lenovo. My latitude seems a good one, since it didn't break in more than one year period. I also know that Dell has a great CS, so I can get no hassle fixes, what about Lenovo? How good their CS?

I just checked my order status but it shows invalid order number.
What's wrong with the Lenovo?

Why they cancelled our orders? There was even no email to explain why it is cancelled.
Fuck Lenovo.
