FYI: I believe that this comes with only one cartridge, the color one. The printer is up to 1200X1200 dpi, 7ppm black, 4ppm color. It supports XP, ME, 2000, 98. Thanks for the deal!

I got one a few weeks back and the printer is crap. The catridge assembly got stuck on the very FIRST test page. The funny thing is that there are no phone numbers listed so i had to goto the Lexmark site to get one and I was surprised by what i found! They have next day replacement number! To me that says a lot about their quality (or lack of it) to have a dedicated replacement number. :Q

But on the plus side when i did call them they sent me a replacement printer overnite without any hassles. Thats the fastest customer service i've gotten so far from any manufacturer.

Regarding cartidge cost. Well the Black one costs around $30 and the Color around $33. It seems very weird to spend 3 times the printer cost for it's supplies. :disgust: The quality isn't all that great despite the 1200 x 1200 resolution they boast about. My older HP 648 gives pretty much the same quality printouts.

And oh yes, this printer accepts only ONE cartridge at a time.

Well that was my 2 cents worth.

BTW anyone have a link for the rebate? Is the rebate specific to OM?

CHINAFIFA- the rebate form reads "Limit one (1) rebate per item purchased". That wording seems ambiguous at best. You might try calling customer service at 1-800-978-4456 and ask them. Of course, relying on the word of a customer service rep can also be a crapshoot. Good luck!

Warning! Rebate thru OfficeMax SUCK, Usually have to be to sent out within 7 days, MUST include original Receipt.....If you order online and more than one item has a rebate, you can wait more then 7 days for more copies because you have to call and request them to be mailed to you.

At the top of the rebate form, it says it expires 5-4-02. Doesn't that create a slight difficulty? Is there another rebate form?

Edit: Nevermind.... Picked one of these up today actually. Officemax did try to cheat me out of a cdrw rebate once. Also got the free AR cd-r's and the $7.99 optical mousie.

I've done quite a few rebates through OM and have never had a problem. Every rebate was put through and have never had them deny a single one. Seems Om is much better at rebates than other rebates/stores.

As a former Lexmark employee, I'd say Lexmark's quality is OK. I am still using two Lexmark printers that were beaten up by the testing lab 5 years ago, and they are still running fine.

Having a replacement phone number just means they have great customer service.

1200 dpi is a pure marketing number, 300dpi is the max for human eyes. Check the picures on mag (e.g. Playboys), their resolutions are not even close to 300dpi.

That's a better deal than what they're advertising, given that the Z22 is a dual-cartridge printer and the Z13 is a single-cartridge printer. I paid $50 for a Z22 a couple of weeks or so ago. The Z22's cartridges are also larger, so you're probably getting more ink per cartridge. (I don't know if they're up to the same capacity as the cartridges I run in the Optra Color 40 I have at home, though.)

Uhh, i've never seen a single-catridge inkjet...how does this work? You can either print all B&W or color only?

Unless you install a black cartridge, it'll mix the colors to produce black. A quick way to drain your color cartridge.
