Picked up this deal yesterday at Office Depot. Called in and told them about the website being backordered and they accepted it all. Only glitch was them double charging me tax, but I'll take that.

As for the mouse itself, it definitely is one of the best wireless mice I've used. My only pet peeve is USB tops out at 125hz, and I'm used to 200hz from my PS/2. Mouseware currently doesn't allow you to up the hz on the mx700 even when its plugged into the PS/2, and winxp says its at 200hz already. However mouserate says its locked at 125hz. I'm slowly getting used to the lower setting, and if anything its acceptable. As for those of you asking about gaming, unless you'd be bothered by the hz, I'd say the dpi, and optical refresh rate are good enough.

Hate to tell you this, but I used to have one of those Logitech Cordless Optical Mice. I used it for about 6 months, but finally got fed up with the new-pair-of-batteries-once-a-month monster. I don't use my computer much in the daytime while I'm working, but used it to game alot when I got home. I'm not sure if you're mileage may vary, but I know that the red laser on that mouse was always on whenever I came back from work so you will probably be around this time frame regardless of how much you use your computer(s). I always wondered why they didn't make it with an on/off button, but they came out with the rechargeable solution instead. After the batteries ran out again after a month and getting fed up with that mouse, I changed to a 5-button MS Intellimouse, and didnt' really need another mouse, but with the 800 dpi, 4.7 megapixels/sec., rechargeable station and the nice price tag, I had to jump on this deal, and although I haven't really used it yet b/c the high sensitivity is throwing off my CounterStrike game, I can tell that I will love this mouse. Sucks that the deal is dead now, but I'm very grateful to TerryB for posting this and congrats to everyone that got on it.

I go roughly 2 AA's a month w/ my cordless optical. They die out faster if I've gamed a lot, and slower if I haven't (like this past month- stupid schoolwork )

A lil OT but does anyone happen to know the office depot SKU for the MX500 if they carry it, searching isn't working and even when i search for mx700 it isn't coming up, so how did the original poster get the SKU? If anyone has the SKU for the MX500 please post it. I need to get that one instead of cordless because 2 mice from logitech, both cordless in the same room doesn't work, my brother and I have tried it for a few days and it got so annoying that we kept picking up each others 'signal'.... I had to return mine (he bought his first)

Thanks

I just stopped by my local Office Depot today after work and picked one up using my online Office Depot shopping cart printout. 'Cept I couldn't find a valid $15 off so I had to use a $10 instead. Got it for $43.48 plus a $3.50 ream of paper to get me over the magical $50.00 mark. When I asked the sales clerk why my attempt at online ordering showed out of stock when I tried ordering both last night and this morning before work she told me that sometimes the warehouse doesn't have things that they do and their store inventory doesn't always show up in the online computer. So I asked her if it happens again if I could just bring my shopping cart printout down and pick it up there at the same price. She said it would be no problem, smiled and thanked me for shopping at Office Depot.

It really does pay to be nice to the clerks and managers. I've been turned down on some of these deals from time to time but I just say OK, thank them for their time and walk away. If you get in their face about it they're just going to remember you the next time you come in and try to swing a deal. If you're nice about it you'll get to know them and they'll be more willing to cut you some slack. You'll even get to know which line to get into according to who's working the registers to get the best chance of getting your deal out the door.

They sent me the right one finally, but these drivers suck, the extra buttons don't work with BF 1942

remove mouseware and only install the driver straight from the CD.
