Can't beat this for $65 And no way in hell was I going to put up with Creative's sh!tty drivers.

Awesome news! Sorry to hear about the shuffle, seems as if some people have been reporting the same.... Have you tried any games or anything with her yet?

I'll try Battlefield 1942 when I get a chance, but I'm kinda tired now.

How are the drivers for this card? I mean will I have any incompatibilities with directx or games or programs?

Thanks for the deal. I was looking for a decent home recording card. First I had the M-Audio Audiophile 2496, then sold it to go USB on my laptop (Edirol UA-20), but with all the problems with USB audio it wasn't worth it. I figure I'll use this on my desktop and look for a PC Card audio interface for my laptop.

You got one??

Yea, picked it up today to replace my onboard nforce2 sound.... Wow, quite the difference....

BTW, to those of you having latency issues. Download the newest driver from m-audio.net, it has the ability to set the latency down to 60 (only very SLIGHLY behind now, in all honstly its barely noticable)

All I can say is WOW!

I didn't think there would be THAT noticeable of a difference between this card and the SB Live Value that it replaced. But I just took the chance and drove down to my local CompUSA to grab this card and I do not regret it at all!

I have it hooked up to my Videologic Digitheatre DTS via a digital coaxial cable and the sound is simply marvelous. Even MP3's sound noticeably different!

Thanks to the contributors in this thread for convincing me to get this card, it is the best $65 I have spent on my system in a long time.

Is it possible to buy two sets of 4.1's, and hook 7 out of the 8 speakers up to this and use that as a 7.1 setup? Or no? I was curious.

Just got mine the other day. The sound quality using the 5.1 (thats the only amp I have) analog outs to my amplifier then to my main speakers is simply amazing! I had an Acoustic Edge which is not a bad card at all, but the differences in stereo seperation and clarity is really stunning!!! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sound card,

MMM.... that's odd. Most people that I have heard said the oposite. What sound sources are you comparing?

For analog out to a receiver for dolby digital only, the Revolution will sound better than an Nforce2. (Subjective as some say they can't tell the difference.)
For games the Nforce2 should sound better.
For cd's there shouldn't be any difference.
For digital out- there will be no difference between the two because it passes the signal straight through.

Are you refering to regular nforce2, or nforce2 with soundstorm? As they can sound quite different.

I am currently using this with a video capture card (runnin in digital cable from an external box). As for latency? None for me (and my sound is being run into the line-in jack). My only complaint is that in order to hear any sound through the line-in, is that you have to load up the control panel for the soundcard. Im gonna call them up though and request a fix in the next driver update, as this would not be hard to fix at all.\

As for the card? It sounds AMAZING! There is a new clarity there now that i never knew existed. So far i've tried it with mp3's & cd's, and both sound fantastic. Gonna try it out with games in a little bit, but so far this card is a dream!

From the Digital Connection Site

" ***DVD-Audio support not available at this time***"

I repeat my question.
Does this only apply to an external DVD player?
An internal drive would have no problem?

DVD-Audio are Audio-only discs recorded in multi-channel on a dvd disc. (I.e. not a regular DVD) Im 99% sure its only refering to straight up DVD-Audio discs as many people have reported amazing quality results using their dvd drives for movies.

Your best bet to ask this question however wouldnt be here,
