I'm sure everyone remembers HawkeyeNJ suddenly disappearing from the forum around 9/11, and how everybody was wondering where he went. Well--i saw this today and thought maybe it would come in useful for places like this...

I wouldn't use something like this because A) it's very prone to fault, like someone turning off your computer or your Internet access after you're declared dead... B) there's a chance of you not deactivating it in time... I, for one, would not be able to stand its devastating effects while I'm alive, C) it's too much to worry about -- keeping it "dormant" your whole life.

On one hand, you'd set it to a low timeout so as to destroy your data and uncover your secrets relatively soon after your death, but the downside is that you have to be more careful with deactivating it on time.
One the other hand, you'd set it to a high timeout to prevent mistakes, but then the switch becomes much less effective.
