I bought at Staples.com and yes, I called ask them PM to Fry's B&M, she asked the phone number of the store and give me the credit.I'm a little confused, PeterPan. Did you have STAPLES.COM pricematch a Fry's B&M, or did you do this at Staples B&M?

Just a note on the acoustic management utility: I know that Maxtor at least at one point produced one for their drives. I have a 60GB Maxtor that I bought in mid-2000, right when they started adding those features to the drives. I recall finding a link to their utility on their Web site somewhere, but I never used it. I don't know if it shipped in the quiet mode or what, but that drive has never made a peep since the day I installed it. Hard drives are so quiet nowadays.

I had called three times and was concerned they would put a note on my order. I got the credit and will return the item I ordered at the local store................
How would you do this if you got the drive for $150, used a $30 off $150 coupon ($120.00)? It's the same price after coupon and if you have them do a price match, wouldn't they drop the $30 coupon anyway? Just curious?Pricematch to COMPUSA's $119.99 after INSTANT[b/] rebate.
