Hey you guys,

Don't forget to pricematch your drives to CompUSA's $79.99 AR (119.99 before AR) . I just got $36.09 back!

>> Anyone that got a $20 price match yesterday have the guts to try to get $10 more today?

Actually, I did. I didn't mention the other price match to the CSR... She didn't say anything, so I'll be watching my CC to see what happens... I may have just gotten this thing for $32.51!!!!!

Fingers crossed!

Im missing the logic here..
149.99 + something to get over 150.. PM compusa - 30 (or 33 if you get the 110%) = 119.99 (or 116.99) - 30 coupon (30 off 150) = 89.99 - 40 MIR = 49.99

but where does the need for $3 to get the coupon to work come in to play?

this is for those who have bought this drive before 3-16-2003..its called Price Protection.. ..now the new deal is straight PM to CompUSA for $119.xx then go from there on whatever coupon/code op you can do..

hmm...it seems very easy.
it took me one minute on the phone.
now we'll see if it really goes through.
if it comes through, it's great, i'll spend the $30+ on something else.
if not, $90 after rebate is still a good price for 8mb

I just ordered my HD + Maxell CD's. Used the 30 off 150 coupon AND just PM'd right now with compusa. Easy pricematch this time. I guess I was lucky. Jump on this deal guys! It's totally worth it!

Are you kidding? 120MB for $56? Of course it's still worth it even if you get a 2MB version.

Well I called to have them pricematch my previous order from last week...I paid the full price ($149+pencils) less a $30 off $150 coupon. Problem is that they will match the CompUSA price ($119) but they say they also have to charge me an additional $30 since that adjustment takes my order below the $150 that the coupon qualifies for. I said then let me apply a $20 off $100 coupon, but they said they can't since it is past 48 hours after the order was placed. That's so inconsistent. I actually demanded a supervisor and she wouldn't budge.

The only thing I can do is return the drive and buy it again with a $20 off $100 coupon.

Does anyone know of a working code?

TIA!

Couldn't you just buy $30 more worth of pencils (or other items) to get it back up to $150+? That's what other people did.

whats the speed difference between 8mb and 2mb. I might put this in my gaming rig. Will i see a difference?

PLUS: ARE you guys getting the 8mb ones even in the boxes that say L6Y3 or does it have to say P6Y3!!

Picked up one of these, hope it's the 8MB. Anyway, I used the Sony CD-R's ($2.94 + tax after MIR) as filler but can't seem to find the MIR. Anybody?

A great deal!

Pricematched to CompUSA. The lady must have misunderstood me because the order confirmation says 117.99 not 119.99. Minus the 30 off 150 and the 40 MIR it comes to $47.99. I guess I'll be selling my unused 60 GB now.

Thanks Gr1mL0cK for the PM note.

Wohoo!

How is this for a deal. Kinda same thing as Chuck, but better.

I went into Staples B&M and they had the 120gb 8mb in the place where the 100+20gb 2mb usually go. I asked the girl what the price was and she said $139.xx and I said I would take it. This is the actual $199.99 one. I got the CD-Rs to make it over $150 so I could use the $30 off coupon. When it rang up at the register for $199.99 she went to check and asked the guy who just told her to put the SKU in which gave it to me for the $139.xx price. The rebates printed out as well, so I will try and get the rebates, which will be another $30-$40. I also had a $30 gift card from a previous purchase.

Breakdown

$199.99 actual drive
$139.xx price paid
$12.84 for CD-Rs
-$30 In-store coupon
-$30 Gift Card
+tax

=$100.xx TOTAL, not including $10 MIR and possible $30-$40 MIR for HD. Which means if it works out I got the $200 version for around $50.

Now if I can just PM the drive I bought at BB last week to the CompUSA deal, I will have 2 of these drives in my system for $110 total.

Success. I went to Staples this morning and they gave me problems. So I drove over to CompUSA and bought the last 100+20 drive (8 meg version) and drove back to staples. I droped the drive and my reciept infront of them and priced matched @119.99 added some extra stuff and used the 30 off 150 coupon. (2 meg version)

In the DC area staples seem to have the 2meg version
while Compusa has the 8meg

Woot. Just talked to a CSR and I am getting refunded $22.94 to my card after PM. She was already aware of the pricematch and cut me off by saying "Yes, we'll PM CompUSA" before I could do anything.

Thanks for the deal. In regards to the Sony rebate, it should be active within the next day as well. The CSRs have been getting lots of calls regarding this issue.

you got a deal on the 8mb cache retail box..you will not get a $40 MIR on the drive you have as the S/N UPC is not the one for this $40 MIR if you have the originally priced at $199.xx drive..just a FYI..
