You can raid different drives, just like you can put different tires on the same car, but it is not optimal, in that the performance is limited by the slower drive, and there MAY be more chance for error.

The warranty validation site shows 1 year on mine too, but the box with the serial number states that it's 3 years. I'll probably just keep the box until the 3 year warranty is up. Just in case complications arise.

Got one of the last week from Frys at $109 - same product code but got a Diamond Max Maxtor not a rebadged Seagate - 1 yr Warranty

Anyway someone said this is a 500gb drive, but at the bottom specs it says 300gb drive, but you guys infact have gotten them and they are infact 500gb correct? Because the deal started on the 18th and I'm not really sure if anyone has infact gotten one in the mail from Outpost yet as opposed to buying one in a B&M

the picture shows a 500gb hard drive..the model number indicates a 500gb drive..but the bottom was probably copied by a lazy webmaster

It wasn't even on sale at my local Fry's; I came home and ordered online,
so YMMV check your local online Fry's newspaper ad and see if it was on sale

This is the one thing that I'm afraid of. When you ordered it, did the website specifically mention that the warranty is for one year only?

Despite my concern I'm still buying for my new computer. Hopefully it'll be a rebadged Seagate.
