Okay people, just to ease the confusion and complexity with the rebates, I called Staples CS and the lady told me to send the original UPC to Maxtor rebate, and the other two rebates that goes to Staples, make copies of the UPC. I guess the HDD would be free after rebates after all. Woo hoo!

Hrmm I think I found the maxtor one you were talking about, but it's still mailed to staples. There are too many damn rebates to keep track of!

Maxtor rebate would be the $30 one. IMHO it would be safer/smarter to send the original UPC to the rebate that gives more money back, just in case they reject the copied UPCs.

Does anyone have any thoughts or concerns about using the online submission for the 2 $20 rebates?

Im going for BOTH of the $20 rebates...if I get them great, if not, still a great deal at $40. Although free would be incredible!

Just wondering, but why do you think the Maxtor rebate is $30 one? It doesn't show up on the Maxtor site; only the $20 that goes to Dept 02-50545 is listed (Link #1 a couple posts above this one).

so all you have to do is send a copyed UPC and ORIGINAL reciept to $30 one and send the ORIGINAL UPC and COPYED reciept to the $20 (or send it to both the $20) and depending on how lucky you are.. you may get the drive for $20 or free

How about just sending in the one rebate that was advertised and be happy that you just got a 60GB hard drive for about $40. That's a terrific deal... why do you guys have to be so greedy?

I was under the impression that the $30 rebate was for Staples and the two $20 rebates were for Maxtor. I was going to send the original UPC to one of the $20 Maxtor ones (I highly doubt it will work for both since its basically the same rebate) and then the copy of the UPC to the $30 Staples rebate. Reason being is that both printable $20 rebates (im assuming from Maxtor) clearly say the ORIGINAL UPC must be included (at the bottom). The $30 (which I am assuming is Staples) one only says it needs the sales receipt (at the bottom). If I am assuming wrong someone please set me straight.

Edit: Also do I sent a copy or an original of the sales receipt, and which one would get the original and which would get the copy, or do I send copies to both?

Staples Rebate

Maxtor Rebate

I think I will send the staples rebate with the Copied UPC enclosed with a note saying that it didn't ask for the Original and that I needed yo use the original for another rebate. If they decline then I will send the UPC if the accept then I send the Maxtor one away.

The Maxtor rebate is the rebate #3 pdf. The html version doesn't say Maxtor, but the pdf does. Like I said in a post earlier... "I called Staples CS and the lady told me to send the original UPC to Maxtor rebate [$30 rebate], and the other two rebates [2 $20 rebates] that goes to Staples, make copies of the UPC."

Either they changed it online, or I'm smoking something. The two $20 rebates send to the same dept # and address. Does anyone have a copy of the $20 rebates with different dept #'s?

You have to be carefull, they use a global variable when requesting the rebate form and sometimes you'll end up with the same form.

One $20 should have:
Mail to: ( Dept. 02-50545 ), P.O. Box 028515, Miami FL 33102-8515

The other:
Mail to: ( Dept. 02-50052 ), P.O. Box 028515, Miami FL 33102-8515

And the $30:
Mail to: ( Dept. 02-51266 ), P.O. Box 028513, Miami FL 33102-8513

ALL THREE state "Include UPC and Sales Receipts in an envelope" as the 2nd step.

So, anyways, that may be a problem...people have been saying "Send X to staples and X to maxtor", but all three go to the same PO box, so.................................................

I agree. If this is wrong, then Staples/Maxtor is partly to blame. Just offer ONE $30 rebate instead of $30, $20 $20 and maybe others we don't know. Some people may not have known about the $30 and sent in the $20, even if they were interested in one rebate. Better yet, reduce the price accordingly ie: sell it for $40 +tax, instead of "borrowing" money from consumers.

my order says shipped today.... sweet. Hopefully I end up gettign all the rebates back, but in any case, $40 or $20 is still a really good deal. And at least they didn't cancel it cause of the coupon, like some other people have had happen.

You're right, it's Maxtor/Staples' fault. If they didn't want people to submit 3 rebates for the same item then they should make that clear. You know, by requiring you to submit one-and-only UPC to get the rebate. That way only one rebate could be used per purchase..... oh wait, that's exactly what they do.

I did it! I got the 2 sticks of 512mb pc133 pny ram and the hardrive for 150.10!!! I pm'd the ram (thanks to another thread) and got the hd too. It ended up being ~200. Then I used the 50 off 200 and got it all for 150.10 after tax! Now I have two pny rebates for 50 bucks each and one 30 dollar rebate and now I only have to use one of the two other rebates that REQUIRE the original UPC to get 150 dollars back in rebates! woohoo! im pretty excited.

Point of Information: The rebate that goes to Dept. 02-50545 says its only for purchases made at Staples.com only
Just in case you weren't sure which one to send.

Fraudulent submission of multiple requests could result in federal prosecution under the U.S. Mail Fraud Statutes (18 USC, Section 1341 & 1342).

although, i think the $20 going to dept.8515 and $30 going todept.8513 are BOTH legit.
i'm actually going to send the pdf versions.
the $20 rebate should include the original upc since it's going to rebateshq.
the $30 rebate should include the copy of upc since it's going to staplesrebates.

Sorry, but how is this "fraudulent"? There are multiple rebates available and one of them says it doesn't need the original UPC. If they changed it after I printed it then THAT is fraudulent.

It could mean multiple requests of the SAME rebate. Technically, these are THREE different rebates.

I just received my drive.
Which is the receipt which I should send with the rebate?
I have one that says "THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE", is this it? Or should I print one out?

Thanks.

They pulled it from the website. They finally caught on. Good luck to everyone with the rebates.

Edit: I did get mine today and I ordered on Sunday around noon EST.
