Well, it looks like I snagged one of those drives.

The BB line was ringing and ringing with 2 different reps. On the 3 time, the CSR was kind enough to call them and call me back when she got through. I thought that was awesome.

Bill came out to:
97.63 incl tax
59.74 less (don't know where she came up with that)
-------
37.89 Total :Q

Thanks MysticMan1

I got the same exact $59 credit. Dunno where she came up with that, but who cares. the $5 can be used to offset the damn tax I paid. Thanks Mysticman1.

Just tried to get two of them on a single order but they would only pricematch one of the drives. Too late to cancel so I have to refuse the order when it comes.

I finally got it. Ordered one. Did a PM on it. YESSSSSSSS.
I have a friend order another one. Hopefully, it'll go through.
Raid baby. (imitating Austin Power's accent)

It's your sales tax credit. The pricematch comes to $55 so you add sales tax to that total. So I'm guessing your sales tax for your area is ~8.5-8.6%

I already posted this in GH, but for anyone here who doesn't read GH or didn't happen to see my thread, I have a question:

Right now I have an IBM 60GXP (40 GB, 7200 RPM). Would I see a significant speed increase by upgrading to this drive? Can anyone who owned a drive from the 60GXP era and upgraded to this one (or a similar one) give me any feedback on this? If this drive won't be noticeably faster than the one I have I think I'll pass.

At this price it's definitely worth it. Not only do you get the 8 meg cache, but double the size. Plus IBM's line of drives are now notorious for a high failure rate.

This is my first "hot deal" ever Worked on first try. Spoke to cute sounding rep, Stephanie. She called my BB, checked if it was in stock and voila! $37 something (taxes included).

Make sure you give them [Staples] your local Best Buy's phone # right away.

I called back CSR to make sure how much will be credited back to my VISA, because the 1st rep had no idea how to calculate it. It turns out my coupon can't be used since the total wasn't above $100, so I was like ok, all ready to use the $10 off $50 coupon. But she said the total amount due comes to only $36.74?????? I'm not complaining, but how the heck did it add up to that w/o a coupon? I have 5% tax here but I still couldn't figure it out.

Sounds to me like the system will keep the coupon on there unless the rep manually takes it off. I'm guessing that she didn't do that.

What are you doing newbie?
You never ask a CSR about a coupon that ypu already applied when you do a PM.
Your lucky you didn't lose that $20 coupon and screw up the deal for everyone else.

If you have a question about a deal posted in this fourm, you post that question in the deal thread or ask a menber for help, but you never call a CSR and ask them how to do a hot deal.
