I just received mine today. Sort of makes me wish I got two. Too bad it's too late now for the Fry's pricematch.

My invoice says:

20.00 CR

with the supposed $65.99 credit from the CSR.

I received my (2) harddrives today. Had to order 1 as me and 1 for my wife (yea right).

Used a $10 coupon on the first one and a $20 coupon on the second (don't ask me why).

Anyway, now looking on ebay it looks like they're only going for about $75 so after it's all done I'm only going to make $40 off each. Oh well.

How long does it take for them to submit the credit back to my credit card?

My pricematch was approved on the 18th and I received the drive on the 19th.

I am not going to open it until I know for sure they are really going to give me the credit... sucks to be so distrusting.

long ago..the 80GB did come with a controller card..now min size is 160GB drives pretty much...there are some controller cards over in FS/FT forum

exactly... i haven't opened mine either.

i have no way of checking whether or not i have been credited back or not. i have called the staples line and all they could tell me was that the CSR that assured me of the pricematch would credit me the day after i had received the drive (i received it the next day after i ordered it) -so i am left wondering if i will even get credited back afterall (Friday was the day she was supposed to credit me back, one day after the rebate ends).

I ended up paying $35.00 total, PM'd to Outpost.com already got the credit on my credit card.

however, I did send one back, when they wouldn't give me the second pricematch, and I have yet to receive a credit back on that credit card for $96.00, and I also see an additional charge of $21.55.. I'll have to send them an email to see what is up with that.

BTW, you can get the drive at OfficeDepot.com for $50 after rebates, using a $20 off coupon code.. free shipping as well. Not sure if a pricematch for $70 would be worth it from Staples or not. depends on how much you hate rebates.

Well you could buy it from staples with a $20 coupon and get it for 89.98 and then have them pricematch it to officedepot to get a CR of ~$44 or so + tax

I got a reponse back from staples, and they already credited all my money back for the purchase which I refused at delivery.. I was worried they were going to try and nail me for the shipping or something..

edit: a friend ordered one of these drives today and just PM'd to officedepot.com for a $47.57 credit off of $96.57 order from staples.com.. He then saw elsewhere that you can pick up the item in OfficeDepot CA stores for $109+tax (10$ cheaper, shows up in cart when you check-out on the web, for in-store pickup), so he is going to try and get another $11 PM'd now. to bring the total cost back below $40.

edit2: nope, they called the store and the store said the price was $119... but if you buy online at officedepot for in-store pickup it will show $109 in your cart for some reason. oh well.

Yep, I'm a loser. Just closed the deal with a co-worker for both drives at $75/ea (he missed the 6/19 buy date). Had a few people PM me but they were low-balling. Posting in the same thread is actually an excellent way to find buyers. You logon to AT and find you missed the window of opportunity reading the thread posts. Then you run across someone who is selling the drive for less than everyone else. Go to PriceWatch, you can't find it cheaper and you don't want to wait for another deal.
