I can't stand DLP...absolutely no competition to my plasma or LCD whatsoever, IMO...I'd take a Plasma, LED or LCD over this in a heartbeat.

FWIW, i have the 65" version and i love it.
Brightness and viewing angles are good.
At this price it's a no-brainer. I would buy another in a heartbeat, even over a plasma or LCD (which would cost at least 3 times as much for a comparable size screen).

Edited to add: i consider myself very particular about PQ and i'm very pleased with this TV. In fact, it's definitely the best purchase i've ever made. And i paid considerably more than what they're selling it for now.

I did the 65" for $999 at BB online. Includes free delivery. I got the $199 four year repair plan too as insurance on the bulb. I have a large room to put it in so did not care about it not being thin. I have no doubt a high end plasma may have a better picture but the cost/size ratio was too good to pass up. Once I get it installed we will see how happy I am. The ability to return it was also a factor picking BB.

I also did the Bing cashback. I ordered the 60", but instead Dell gave me the 65". Mine arrived today. I got a call from the local shipping company on Monday night. They are sub-contractors to Pilot shipping. They called to schedule the delivery.

That sucks (well, not for you, but...), I ordered the 65" and got the 65". If this is true, wonder how prevalent this is, if they're doing a lot of it, I should be getting some cash back.

Did you know it was a 65" before it showed up, or did it still show as a 60" on their site?

Eventhough this is a bulb based DLP. For the money it is a good deal. Problem for me is I already own a Sammy 67" LED DLP and have no where to put this thing.

FYI, you can get the bulbs for only $99 directly from Mitsubishi.
Go to http://www.mitsuparts.com/index.cfm and enter model number of your TV.
WD-60c9 for example.

Although it might be a long time before you need one. I've got 3000 hours on mine so far.

Nice price, but be cautious. Mitsubishi is not what they once were IMO. They used to sell a hell of a tv, I have seen too many of the newer ones crap out or have various issues. My brother had one of these and had to exchange it 3 times till he gave up and got it replaced for a sony. Luckily he got all his money back towards a new tv.

I had a 52 inch DLP from Mitsubishi. Picture quality was second 2 none. Better than a lot of the low grade Plasma's and LCD's. Had a friend who had a 50 inch SOny Plasma, top of the line, $5000.00 Sony plasma... The colors blew my TV away, but overall Picture quality of mine, blew his away. Then came the Super Bowl of 2008... The week of the Superbowl, my TV took a dump. It had been having problems for 6 months before, power off all of the sudden, and having to be reset (sounds like a Windows problem). Well... finally it powered off and would not come on.
$500.00 worth of work... then more work... Having to drag the TV from my upstairs office down to the van and then over to the shop 3 times, was not encouraging at all. Issue was crappy buiild of Mitsubishi...

Its bad when there is a Class action law suit out against you....for your product that dies within a year or two of initial purchase...

Waiting for some kind of confirmation....order status screen says delivery date of NA but click on the order for the details and it says it's "in production" with a late-dec delivery date....guess they had to run out to BB to get some more ...

How exactly does the 3D thing work? Do you need to buy 3D ready blu-rays to see it or is it native? Does it come with any 3D glasses?

Got mine yesterday to replace my 6+ year old Hitachi. Fired up an HD episode of Stargate Universe, and OMG, the black levels on that TV are stunning, especially for the price. I never really understood people talking about black levels until I saw that last night. It's incredible.

So glad I got in on this deal.

this is a very nice tv... i'm sitting watching it right now... not a lot of features, but the picture is very good and the remote is pretty nice for a simple item... i paid $900 and thought it was a good deal...

I'm going to go ahead and guess she'd rather have a failing TV and $600 in her pocket than have a nice TV and be out $600. Just a guess... not sure at all if it is true or not... /sarcasm
