Dead motherboard?

I've been upgrading my system lately.

GTX 760 -> GTX 970
Antec 550 PS -> Corsair 650 Newegg
i3570 -> i3770 (used off ebay)

since I tried installing the 3770, the system hasn't been up. I reinstalled the 3570, but that didn't Help. Been re-wiring with the Corsair for the last couple of days.

DecideD last night that the next step was to pull the motherboard and see about bench assembling the minimum parts. The last time I had a similar issue I didn't get around to this until I got the new Motherboard, and I found out the old one still worked.

So I have the motherboard with just the CPU and cooler, Plus Ram. and a power supply Power it up and one of the cpu fan is running, BUt that is it. Nothing showing on the internal video connector, nothing else

I have an Asrock z77 Extreme 4. It has got the dbug display., and it is no longer lighting up at all.

It's toast, right? Is there anything else I can do to kick Start it? I tried the cmos button the rear.
Time to look for a z97?

I wouldn't even bother with AsRock RMA..
Still mad after 4 yrs? yeah..I am
Try different video cables..RAM slots with different sticks..etc..
Try reseating CPU..look in the socket for bent pins.. yikes..

It seems like you have power because of the CPU fan running.. In this set up, are you using the 3770 you got from ebay? have you tried putting back the 3570 and see if you get a different result?

I am using the new power supply, plus the original CPU. the ram has never been moved since the beginning of my issues.

IS it possible for a cpu to damage a motherboard? Should I try the 3770 in my back-up ststem (which currently has a PENTIUM 3258).

WHEN I realized the current crop of cpu's were socket 1150, I looked for the 1155 motherboards, and the Asrock Extreme 4 looks like it is still the most popular.

Any beep codes? I put together a system the other day and couldn't get a display. I hooked up a speaker and got a beep code for RAM. Reseated the RAM and it booted up right away.

Try what Nashemon suggested, reseat your RAM, it works wonders

Have you tried the old Power Supply?

epilog; removed cpu and found a bunch of mashed pins.

new Corsair power supply seems garbage, it never booted anything I have tried.

The non functioning debug led is a great indicator of board health and when they fail to display it generally means that the board is toast.
