Looking for some advice.....would this be a noticeable upgrade from a 7800GT (256 MB) in my rig now. I just upgraded my processor to a dual core Athlon 4200 and upped the RAM in my machine to 2G. I am wondering if WoW will run better on my Dell 20" with this card.

Yes. <--That is an understatement.

Got one. It's already on FatWallet so even though my email also says Dec 12th for the ship date I sincerely doubt I'll get it before Jan. For $220 for a 660MHz board I'm fine with that.

I'm getting there. I started buying stuff for my new build yesterday. 5 orders so far for: MB, CPU, GPU (the Dell one, naturally), RAM (lots of it), case, vista, PSU, and av software. More to come later tonight, and then tomorrow. I doubt anything I'm after will be any cheaper in Monday's deals, so I'm just going ahead with it all now.

Well I bit. Now to try and unload my 7900GT local and get half the money back. I never owned a MSI so hopefully it won't disappoint. I guess I should have looked but what kinda warranty does MSI offer? Now to get me a Quad and I should be set till this time next year.

Total was $220.xx(so around $12-13). It all depends on state I'm sure. Thats the first time I had to pay taxes online aswell. Says it will ship on 12/10 and I should get it between 12/13-12/17 so I hope its true.

These will likely remain around the $300 range till the first of the year anyway and thats if you can even find one. I prefer XFX or eVGA but for the price one can't complain.

I believe Dell pretty much charges sales tax to every state. Besides them, plus the mass market stores (Circuit City, Best Buy, CompUSA, Radio Shack, Walmart) that have a presence in Wisconsin, I pretty much enjoy being tax free* from all the online-only retailers.

*Unofficially because of course officially you're supposed to pay owed sales taxes with your state income tax.

I wonder how hot and loud this thing is gonna be. I want a better card, but I'm running a fairly silent rig w/ ninja and 7600gt w/ S2 arctic cooler and yate loons...

The idea of having a stock video card fan is pretty discouraging.

But man this card looks great at this price!

I am going to wait for an eVGA 8800 to drop in price although I think I will be waiting a while @ $200...

yep, likely 2-3 months. After the issues I've had with my 7900GT KO I don't care if I own another eVGA. However I don't consider them a bad company.

Never thought I'd see this card so cheap so quick. Double lifetime warranty would be cool for resale purposes but I need a card to go with the new Soyo and the price is right! In for 1, thanks OP!

I have had an MSI card since 2001 with ZERO problems. One issue though......there is NO way Dell has this many cards on hand. EVERY deal website is blowing up with this. How can they still be in stock? I ordered mine about 7 hours ago, hopefully I got in before.....

Considering you can't navigate to the item via their site I would say you are correct.

Thx OP, had one in my hand yesterday at Fry's but couldn't pay $280+tax for a card that was supposed to be $250 at retail.

This one is overclocked as standard and $224.11 shipped. Nice!

hmm i have tried they BFG 8800GT OC and it basically died on me after 20 min of use. Computer would no longer post with that car in there. I did not change any settings just had everything default.

I really would not mind if they made this card take up two slots and just be cool and silent.

Be nice if this came through but the deal was posted everywhere. Though with Dell they may not cancel the orders you may just have to wait until the 9999GTX OC is already out for your order to ship.
