sheesh ...
Most of you people here have been here long enough to understand how this works.
People post deals they think are good deals and might benefit the readers...
Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't...
There have been countless times that deals were posted here and a few people got in on the deal before it was gone, or out of stock, or some stores stack coupons and some don't or there was a price mistake and all orders were canceled, etc...
Don't go ripping retailers that oversold a product that their vendor is having trouble supplying.
If it's not a price mistake, it will ship at the purchase price. They will ship it when they get it. If you cannot wait, then cancel and buy elsewhere.
You should know better than to contact Dell Customer Service for Pete's sake! You NEVER get anywhere with them if you can even understand them. They really don't care if you received an item or not, they get paid regardless. Their job is to get yo off the phone/chat box whatever. They read from scripts depending on our comments. "I certainly do understand your issue." ans "Please be assured that you will receive the order soon." are examples.
I have bought thousands of dollars at Dell.com, Newegg.com and Buy.com and although I usually get great prices on most items, but occasionally they screw up.
A lot can be said for Customer Service. Newegg is the best company I have ever dealt with regarding customer satisfaction. As a result, they get tons of orders from people as their reputation as a great online retailer is spread by people who know.
Dell Could take a lesson from Newegg and their sales would skyrocket. What sets a company apart from others is Customer Service.
Anyway, Don't contact Dell until your order have been delayed past the time you are willing to wait. Then, call to cancel and find your product elsewhere.
Otherwise, just wait for your $207.00 GT 8800 to arrive...
