Only 7970 duelX it seems the voltage is only locked on bios 2 (the 1 GHZ bios). The other bios was unlocked. Not sure if that applies to the 7950

Never tried the 2nd bios on my card. The default bios was unlocked though.

Sapphire is quieter at load but MSI has better warranty support imo, plus a 3 year warranty vs. 2 for the Sapphire. Right now the MSI card seems out of stock.

Is either one ok to put in the Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced case without temps going way high at load or am I better one just getting on with the reference cooler? Or are they just too toasty altogehter? lol

I've seen HD7970 in that case:

I can't make any comments on how your temperatures are going to be like though vs. say a mid-range tower. I wouldn't touch a reference 7900 series at all. Their overclocking potential is diminished at quiet noise levels, which defeats the purpose imo.
