***Updated Aug 27th: Deal is dead***

MSI R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC Radeon HD 7950 3GB
= $219.99
- $20 Rebate
= $199.99
- $22 off with VME10BTS promo code at check out
= $177.99

3 Free games

=====

Sapphire now OOS.

Probably the lowest price I've seen on a solid after-market 7950 card.

SAPPHIRE 100352-3L Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

$219.99
- $20 rebate
= $199.99
+ 3 Free games (you can bank these 3 until December 31, 2013 but then have to redeem all 3 at once later).

Rebate is valid until August 31, 2013.

Overclocked to 1130mhz or faster, 7950 beats GTX680/7970GE.

^ The above benchmark is with old drivers dating to September 2012. GCN is now even faster ==> If you are coming from GTX480/GTX570/HD5870/6950/6970 level card, expect 60-80% increase in performance in latest modern games if you overclock your 7950 to 1130mhz+. For $200 + 3 free games, there is no card on the market that even comes close to 7950's OC price/performance.

Which three games? Odd they don't actually state which ones are being included with this deal. Even the amd website seems to not mention the specifics.

With the new system you get 3 "tokens" to choose 3 games from a list of games and Future games that must be used by December 31st.

Its a new program where you have points or something. You pretty much get to choose your own games. ! game from each teir. Rumors are if you waint you may be able to get BF or Rome. I think currently you can get TR or Crysis.

Does this work? Members were posting on previous deals that it would not work together with the 3 free games.

Supposedly the logic has changed allowing you to use the code with the games now. On the 7970 newegg bumped the price up 20$ negating the coupong

Guys, that promotion is entirely dead. Whether it worked with bundle combos is kind of a moot point now...

figured, so i'm wondering why that pic was for vapor-x. kind of confusing.

I never linked the pic for Vapor-X GPU. I linked benchmarks of 7950 @ 1135mhz. This card should be just as capable of overclocking to those speeds. While I'd generally prefer HIS 7950 IceQ X2 among all 7950s out now, the price is not at $200 AR.

The point is HD7950 @ 925mhz is already matching GTX760s but it has overclocking headroom that takes the card well into GTX680/7970GE territory. As has been stated over the last 18 months, 7950 retains all the key flagship parameters of its big 7970 brother -- this includes full 32 ROPs and 384-bit memory bus. As a result of this, 7950 and 7970 perform within 5-6% of each other at the same clock speed. That means if you clock 7950 at 1130mhz, you have surpassed HD7970GE. No NV card at $200 can claim this feat.

If you want to see how fast HD7950 gets beyond 1130mhz, there are plenty of other reviews that highlight that it's a wolf in sheep's clothing:

thats odd b/c i see sapphire vapor-x 3 times in that pic you linked. 3 out of the 4 colored bars are for vapor-x, why did you choose to use a pic that had vapor-x predominately displayed? i don't really care, just seems odd. unless there are no reviews for the dual x

RS - I do think you need to be careful showing results from a different version of the card. Any card that is not voltage unlocked won't come close to those overclocks. And every card overclocks differently. I see one Newegg user who says he got the linked card up to 1140, another says it only made it to 1060.

Your statement that this card should clock the same as a Vapor-X may not be fully supportable.

I couldn't easily find a more recent review of a Sapphire HD7950 V2. But if you want to link one, please go ahead. The point is it shows reference V2 which is what all 925mhz 7950s will hit. Secondly, the driver penalizes HD7950 because it's before the increase in BF3 came out in November 2012; and I still showed it.

You can ask in the HD7950 thread on our forum what the latest performance is of an overclocked 7950 if you do not trust these scores.

Your statement that this card should clock the same as a Vapor-X may not be fully supportable.

And it should. If you followed HD7950s for the last 18 months, the most potent versions were MSI TF7950 (7970 PCB), Gigabyte HD7950 dual-X, HIS IceQ X2 and Windforce 3x.

At hardware.fr, Sapphire dual-x 7950 clocked to 1175mhz on 1.225V. The reason I didn't link that review is all the benchmarks are outdated since they are on such old drivers.

If you read the reviews on Newegg, the card should have voltage unlock via Sapphire Trixx.

"I've clocked this this thing to 1175 on the core and 1500 on the memory @ 1.25v"

"Overclocked easy to 1100 without touching voltage, cool, quiet,"

"Has dual BIOS installed. One is a slight overclock/overvolt, the second one is about 1.23V. You can toggle between the two BIOS by pressing a button on the card while the PC is off. It overclocks very nicely. I run at 1110 GPU and almost 1500 VRAM. It could probably be overclocked further, but it's plenty powerful enough as is. The stock speed for a 7950 is 800Mhz, this thing overclocks very well. The cooler on it is fairly good, keeping it less than 70C even when overclocked."

"Great cooler and OCer - Before i OC'd it, It wouldn't go past 65C, After i OC'd, It maxes at 75C, and that's only in Crysis 3 so far. (I only OC'd it to 1100 mhz and didn't touch the voltage."

"Overclocks like a beast. I was able to get mine to a stable 1150/1500 @ 1.25"

"I love this card. Overclocks like a dream. I keep putting it back to factory's setting. Because I don't want to fry it, because I love it to much. I had it up to 1150 core and 1400 mem."

"Getting 655kh/s constant mining speed overclocked to 1110/1500 with 10% power increase off of MSI afterburner / guiminer."

"Great card, overclocks to 1100/1500 on stock voltage using 20% power in the CCC. If you want higher voltage, Trixx allows that. I didn't bother using Trixx since I have the numbers I want using the CCC. I also run the fan at 40%, temps stay in the low 70's testing Unigine Valley. Even ran at 1150/1500, but I am happy with 1100."

The guy who said he only clocked it to 1060mhz said it's his first ever high end AMD card. Maybe he doesn't even know how to use Sapphire Trixx and voltage control?

As you can see a lot of reviewers are not even overclocking it to the max. The DX is generally a good overclocker. No, I am not saying it will hit 1200mhz, but then there is no card on the market now that can tie a 925mhz HD7950 V2 at $200; so it's a moot point.

I just used the VME10BTS code 5 minutes ago. NE said it was dead at checkout earlier this morning, but I refreshed my cart after a little while and noticed the discount had been applied and the error was gone. Paid with V.me and got the 10% deduction. I don't know if it's still working with free game bundles, I bought something else; but it is working again, for now.

Smoking hot deal regardless.

I bought this exact card (Sapphire 3L) from Newegg last week for $219 after rebate. It has two bioses and on one of them it runs at 1100/1450 at 1.15V without any voltage tweaks - just changed the sliders in CCC. It may go even higher, but I haven't bothered trying.

I thought I was going to go for the MSI 760 because of the awesome cooler, but I ended up with the 7950 because of the unbeatable price/performance and the good-enough Sapphire Dual-X cooler, which is quiet at idle although definitely noticeable at load.

I would just point out that the even-better PCS+ 7950 is now only $229 after rebate. I would definitely go for that one if you have the option.

All indicators point to voltage being unlocked on the 7950 Dual-X. I bought a Dual-X 7970 a few months ago and voltage was unlocked. I would think the 7950 would follow suit.

The cooler is awesome. Very quiet and kept the GPU under 70C even when overclocked.

On my 7970 duelX it seems the voltage is only locked on bios 2 (the 1 GHZ bios). The other bios was unlocked. Not sure if that applies to the 7950
