You may have seen a previous thread or post by me talking up these routers. The last two shipments that I recieved from Newegg were v2 units, which can take DD-WRT. They have 4MB flash and 32MB RAM. Very solid routers, especially with DD-WRT.

Sadly, I had to upgrade to a dual-band router solution with Tomato, because the 2.4Ghz band here is pretty bad at times. But if you are looking for a 2.4Ghz-only router, that can run DD-WRT, these are pretty darn good for that.

I have been running one of these (also a refurb) for 2.0 years and it's been great. Although it does not have Gigabit ports, you will still get Gigabit speeds on your internal network if you connect this separately to a Gigabit switch. I was going to buy a Gigabit router, until I found this out. The built-in firmware is also very good, IMO. As a guide to how good this router is, in my household I have the following hooked up to it:

9 computers (including a public server running Minecraft 24/7)
2 iPads
2 iPod touches
4 smartphones
WD-Live player
Wii
Roku
Internet-enabled Blue-Ray player
2 Networked printers

I never have a single hiccup from it. It's in my basement, and I get decent signal on the third floor of my house. I never intended to keep this router - I bought it as a cheap interim solution, but I'm now afraid to buy an expensive "gaming" router, only to find it won't be any better than this one!

For the v2, yeah. But given the tiny flash space and version lottery, I'd pass.

I bought the same model refurb Netgear router from a different site that lasted less than 6 weeks. The refurb warranty mine came with said 30 days. I tried swapping out the power supply from another Netgear I had, and it failed the replacement power test, so it's a nice doorstop now. It basically connects, then drops the connection after less than 30 seconds.

Just a heads up y'all.
