I just checked the status of mine,and it said SHIPPED! I am not home so I can't check my email.I hope

Mine says shipped to. And i got in late on the deal I talked to Customer service yesterday, cause they sent me an email saying to call them because of the delay and if i still want the thing whenever. The lady said maybe 2 weeks.

But status is showing shipped. I gotta go find some cheap DVD-r's now. Any suggestions??

I ordered early (order #1208xxxxx) and my order still says in production. Pretty typical from my experience of dell to ship stuff out of order.

First, I got an email that my order is delayed (again) and asking if I want to continue waiting for the drive.

Then, I checked the order status and it says SHIPPED.

Something is wrong here...

i believe its the coupon that shows up under shipped, and the drive is gone from the order info page. normally they are 2 different items. check the sku that it says shipped. the sku i have listed starts with 97- , the dvd drive starts with A00 in the original link.

I just called Dell.Yes,it was the coupons they said were shipped! I was told however,they were shipping mine monday!
I got mine for about $235.I used the 10% and the $25,but also had recieved a Dell email giving me another 5% for my
recent purchase.I bought 3 systems plus the Planar lcd in september.

Mine said shipped this morning but it looked like it was just the coupons. Now it says delayed to complete order. Maybe I'll just call and find out what's going on.


Update: I just called Dell and they said they didn't know what was going on with the order status saying that they were shipped. They said they have no idea when the drives will actually be shipped.

Just an FYI. I have one on order from Dell as well, but I saw a post on the vcdhelp.com forums, a guy said he picked one up at a CompUSA for $350. I checked thier site and it says ships in 48hrs, neither of my local stores had them in stock, one in Indinapolis and Cinci had them instock according to thier site. Maybe Dell will be getting thiers soon.

I've ordered Plextor 16X and Lite-On 40X burners from Dell and both came in retail packaging.

My local CompUSA has them in-stock!!! :|

They are probably going to be retail. All the other CDRW dvd's i've got from dell were. Over 30 of them.

Make's me wanna go to CC and buy one then return the Dell's to CC when it comes in. But that wouldnt be Moral would it.

Haha.. I went for that ride tonight... no luck. My CC didn't have these. Where are you guys in the US that you're retailers have these already?

It shows in stock for me at all 5 of my local compusa's:frown:. Hopefully Dell got their shipment too, and we'll be hearing good things this week.

The deal gods were with me tonight......

Called up CC after dinner and told them that dell.com had the drive for 240 before tax. They put me on hold and said that they could do it if its was the "exact" same model. I went a little bit later and suprisingly found 3 of them on the selve... i quickly grabed one and headed to cusmtomer service.. the girl i called on the phone happly did the price match, no questions asked. After the 110% PM it came out to like 238 out of my pocket... ... boy has PMing at circuit city became easier... i am acuatly starting to have respect for there once very shady business... To make a long story short, i am canceling my dell order asap .. i would suggest everyone try PMing at CC, hey its worth a phone call. worked for me. btw if my crappy store here in vermont has these drives in stock, yours should too
