I'm waiting 1hr till the %15 discount take into affect. I get an extra $15 off. Also free shipping. I waiting till their servers applys the new discount. Sometimes it takes a few hours. I remember I waited till 6pm est last time something like this happened. Remember everyone that the coupon expires at midnight tonight. So if the new discount does not go through by 10pm, I just order to be safe.

Yeh, but waiting for a hypathetical additional 5% discount vs ordering now is the difference between receiving your drive in mid-October vs mid-December if ever. :Q Dell aslo has a bad habit of removing "hot items" from their site. If you want it you have better not wait. You can always call later and get your order adjusted if a better discount appears before your item ships.

Ordered one at the 10% off then saw the 15% off. Called and the rep told me that all drives are only 10% and that it's "up to 15%". He was correct from the indications on the "home and home office" page. But clicking on the details of the offer, it says everything is 15% off. Talking to a different customer service rep and I'm getting the extra 5% credit before they fix the "details" information.

DVD+R/RW is compatible with most setp-top boxes. DVD-R is compatible with never machines (within the past year or so). My player at home (bought december of 2000) will read a DVD+R/RW but not a DVD-R. This is great deal.

I think you're confused.. DVD-R is more compatible with older items and home DVD players (these work on my 4 year old DVD player).

Really? I recall reading something to the effect of what I stated fairly recently. I know the dvd-r wouldn't read in my JVC or another friend's Philips, both of similar vintage. It also wouldn't read in a Creative 2X dvd-rom.

Okay, I bit too.

Dell states, "A charge for your order amount indicated was submitted to your card issuer and will be charged when your system or item ships."

I'll be contacting them for the 15% readjustment later.
