HardOCP review of a 390 Devil card (very similar but has the cut-down R9 390 chips vs. the full 290X chips found in the card for sale)

This card comes with some BIG caveats:
-- Before buying, please read 2-3 reviews for all the cons to understand what you are getting
-- You should have a solid 800W+ PSU
-- It runs hotter and louder than the R9 295X2 reference card
-- Not all games scale with CF so if you like to play games at launch or almost immediately after launch, it's probably better to spend extra on a GTX980Ti and overclock it
-- We are coming close to the end of the 28nm generation so it's possible that next gen cards are 30-40% faster than a 980Ti in 2016. If you are willing to wait and/or spend a little more in 2016, skip this card
-- This card can get pretty loud:
http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/71425-powercolor-devil-13-dual-core-r9-290x/?page=10
-- If you are primarily gaming at 1080P, this is most likely not a good buy.
Having said that, if you have HD7950/7970 CF or GTX670/680/770 SLI and want a 1-1.5 year stop-gap until prices of next gen GPUs stabilize, it could be a cheaper option for a lot of horsepower in games where CF scaling does work well after reselling your old cards.
