Well you can never be sure. I made a thread asking about this in the OS board and someone said there was another MS promotion that was giving Vista away as well.

I may get screwed on this one. I joined/installed on 12/10/07 (choosing Vista Ultimate as my prize), got my successful participation e-mail on 2/1/08, then my HD corrupted on 2/19/08, requiring a reformat/reinstall.

I e-mailed them on 2/21/08, asking if I could reinstall and still get my Vista, but to this day I've received no answer (their customer service is at all time highs, I see). So, on 2/22/08 I simply reinstalled with the same e-mail address.

I sure hope I still get it. I've got 4GB in my box, but that last gig is useless in XP Pro. I wanna try 64-bit! I'll be VERY unhappy if I lost out on this.

There are reports in this thread of MS sending emails to certain participants stating "we are NOT receiving data from your computer" so if you haven't received a similar email I would assume you're good to go.

I emailed them a bit ago and they assured me I'm still good and on my way to receiving the product. Should be some time late this month or early next month. I'll favorite this to update if that's the case.

My bro did. Signed up in early December. HDD craps out in January and sends it in to get replaced. Lost his opportunity.

Are the discs NFR, OEM, or retail?

I was in the same boat as you, my computer wasn't transmitting anything up until 2 weeks ago, until I reinstalled and properly entered my email address. But I still got it.

I technically started the program around Feb. 15th. For the past 2 months my computer was not sending data, reason being that my anti-spyware program was blocking the WFP program. Also when you first install the software at the end of installation it prompts you for an email. I never got that portion thanks to the Spybot.

Another question for those who have already received their Vista disc - Microsoft had said in one of their initial emails that they would be emailing to confirm the shipping address before shipping out the disc. Did they actually do this, or just ship it? I'm guessing the latter, since noone has mentioned it.

They asked for my shipping information in an email a couple of months ago, but nothing since.

I signed up during the window, but didn't install the software until about X-mas. We battled over whether my computer was sending info or not for a couple of months, (all the while getting emails from them saying they were receiving information)

Why is it the people who have had the problems sending the data are the ones who are getting the reward before anyone else?

Hopefully Microsoft will send a confirmation email when they do send it so I will know. I think someone in the USPS in my area is stealing mail. I've received some mail lately that are partly opened and items missing. I would imagine it would be so easy for the delivery guy to do that.

This is clearly possible. I think mine does the same shit. That and he backs into my driveway and throws my packages to the door. Friggin arse...enjoy your sad and pathetic life mr. postal man.

"Allow 4-6 weeks" seems like a standard disclaimer. I'm sure it will arrive before then.

I have a question, though: I signed up on Dec 11, 2007, and received an update email on Feb 01, 2008. However, I haven't received any emails or other notifications since then. Is that normal?

For those who signed up in November, should I expect an email when my participation reaches the 3-month mark, on Mar 11?
