Thank you for your recent email sent to winpanel@microsoft.com.

This message is to notify you that your 3 months participation term completes next week, and we are getting ready to ship your product. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. You will receive another email from us when shipments have gone out.

We have received many product selection changes and mailing address corrections from program participants and are currently working on completing those changes prior to shipping.

You are free to uninstall our feedback tool after March 11, 2008 using this utility: http://wfp.microsoft.com/App_Client/wfpclean.exe

Please do not remove yourself from the program by sending a ?remove? request to winpanel@microsoft.com until your product selection has arrived, though, so that we can resend it to you in case you don?t receive it.

If you had a different question, we apologize for this automated response. Please resend your question to winpanel@microsoft.com.

Thank You,

The Windows Experience Team

I have a question, though: I signed up on Dec 11, 2007, and received an update email on Feb 01, 2008. However, I haven't received any emails or other notifications since then. Is that normal?

For those who signed up in November, should I expect an email when my participation reaches the 3-month mark, on Mar 11?

Same here signed up on the 10th of Dec.

Yup, 10th of December. Is that exactly three months? What do they define a "month" as?

For those of you wondering why you haven't gotten that email yet, read the first line:

"Thank you for your recent email sent to winpanel@microsoft.com."

That email is a response sent to people who have emailed that address. I emailed them last week saying simply "This email is just to get the auto-response FAQ, please ignore. Thank you." Shortly after that, I got the FAQ auto-response email. Then the next day, I got the 4-6 weeks email.

Another thanks, I just sent a quick email to see if they will send my response as well. I can't wait to turn my AthlonXP box into something else (server maybe) but I don't want to uninstall XP until I get my new software.

I emailed wfp today and asked about how long I was expected to wait and got a canned message.

Thank you for submitting a question to winpanel@microsoft.com. We are currently experiencing a high volume of questions and have compiled a new FAQ. We hope you find your question addressed.

We have sent out individual email communications to the following groups:

1. Customers who registered when the free product promotion was active, and their PC is sending data to us.

2. Customers who entered their name and email address on the first enrollment page on our website http://wfp.microsoft.com before the program closed at 2 p.m. PT on December 11, 2007, but who did not finish registration when the offer was active. We included instructions to supply the missing information.

3. Customers who registered in time, but their PC is not sending data. We sent out instructions on how to correct the problem so that they will qualify for the free product.

Within the next four weeks, we will notify all customers who registered after the offer ended and are not eligible for the complimentary Microsoft product. All customers that remain in the Windows Feedback Program will be eligible for a new sweepstakes program.

If you still have questions, please don?t hesitate to email winpanel@microsoft.com and we will make every effort to get back to you.

Thank You,

The Windows Experience Team

Frequently Asked Questions:

What happened to the free product offer?

The offer for complimentary Microsoft products was removed from the program when the supply of gifts ran out on December 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. PT.

Once I?ve been confirmed as a participant eligible for the free product, how long will it take for me to receive my free software?

You will receive your free product after we have confirmed that you:

A) Entered a valid email and shipping address;

B) Fully completed the survey;

C) Downloaded and installed the test software on Windows Vista or Windows XP; and

D) Used the designated software for at least 3 months on a Windows Vista or Windows XP computer that is periodically connected to the internet.

Once we have confirmed your eligibility, your gift will be sent to you. If we detect that your computer does not send data, you will be notified via email.

What if I didn?t receive an email confirming my enrollment in the free product offer?

If you did not receive an email confirming your enrollment, and you are not able to continue with the registration process, please check your junk mail folder. In addition, you may also want to add these email addresses to your ?safe? contacts list:

· winpanel@microsoft.com

· winsurv@microsoft.com

How can I be removed from the program?

If you are already participating in the Windows Feedback Program and would like to be removed, please contact us at winpanel@microsoft.com including the phrase ?remove? in the subject line. Please note that after requesting to be removed, you may still receive another invite before the removal process has been completed.

If you recently received an invite to join the program and you would prefer to no longer receive promotional offers or research emails from Microsoft, please visit the Microsoft Profile Center.

Where do I find installation link for the tool?

If you want to install the tool on a different PC in your household or if you had to reformat your PC and want to install the tool again, you can always go directly to http://wfp.microsoft.com/App_Client/setup.exe.

Does the 3 month clock reset when I reinstall the automated feedback tool?

No, we keep your initial registration timestamp for the 3 month period. If we don?t receive data from your PC, we will notify you.

How can I uninstall the software?

· Windows Vista Instructions:

Click Start, click Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Programs and features.
Remove Microsoft Windows Feedback Panel 3.3.

· Windows XP Instructions:

Click Start, click Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Change or Remove Programs.
Remove Microsoft Windows Feedback Panel 3.3.

To remove the tool, you can also run this utility: http://wfp.microsoft.com/App_Client/wfpclean.exe

What if I?ve changed my e-mail address?

If you are already a member of the Windows Feedback Program, please submit your new email address to winpanel@microsoft.com with the subject line ?new email address?, and your contact information will be updated.

My mailing address has changed, what do I do?

Just send us an email to winpanel@microsoft.com with your new mailing address, and we?ll take care of it. If you already sent us a request, we are working on it. Please don?t resend your change request.

I selected the wrong product during registration, what do I do?

Just send us an email to winpanel@microsoft.com with your old product selection and what you?d like to receive instead, and we?ll try our best to make the change for you while supplies last.

I have not received a survey from you yet. Should I be worried?

You may receive an occasional invitation to participate in a Windows product survey, but if you don?t get invited to a survey it only means we have not had a survey request that matches your areas of interest.

I received a message prompting me to contact winpanel@microsoft.com during installation of the automated feedback software. What does this mean?

After completing the survey and installing the software, you may receive a message that prompts you to enter your email address again. You may also receive a message that the email address didn't match the one on file with Microsoft. After entering it again, you will receive a notification to contact winpanel@microsoft.com. If you are sure you are using the correct email address, you may want to check your firewall application. Please make sure it is set to allow wfpuserreg.exe and wfpservice.exe access to the internet on outgoing TCP ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS). Both of these applications are located in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Feedback Panel". If that does not correct the problem, you may want to uninstall our tool and reinstall it following the steps found at the below links:

To remove the tool: http://wfp.microsoft.com/App_Client/wfpclean.exe

To re-install the tool: http://wfp.microsoft.com/App_Client/setup.exe

My friend registered at the same time as I did, and she received a confirmation email already, but I have not. What is going on?

Unfortunately, a lot of our communications get stuck in spam filters. Please adjust your spam filter to allow winsur@microsoft.com and winpanel@microsoft.com . We will send out notifications to customers again when we send out the free product selection.

How can I tell whether I am properly registered in the automated feedback program?

When you are properly registered, you will see the following processes in Windows Task Manager: wfpuser.exe and wfpservice.exe. Please note that in Windows Vista you will need to click ?Show processes from all users? to display this information.

I don?t see wfpuser.exe and wfpservice.exe in Windows Task Manager, what now?

If you don?t see these two programs running, you may want to check your firewall application.

I received an email asking me for my mailing address and product selection, but I accidentally deleted it, what do I do?

We will send out another email communication on the same subject before your 3 months of participation expire so that you can supply the missing information.

When does this program end and what happens then?

We ask you to remain in the program for at least three months. After you received your reward from us, you can uninstall the feedback tool and send a remove request to winpanel@microsoft.com. You may also stay in the program and participate in new offers that are being sent to program participants only.

What is the data used for that you collect from me?

Your data helps us improve Windows. For example, we analyze tasks you complete most frequently and optimize our product for your needs based on real data. We also look at your computer?s configuration to help us better understand a variety of computer systems.

I have sent several emails already, but have received automatic responses only. When will I get my question answered?

Please note that in times of high volume we cannot respond to each inquiry individually, but we will update the FAQ in our auto-response system regularly.

I was told when they would ship the item, and how to remove wfp. Perhaps this will help others (your end date may vary though).

Well, it's Mar 11, 2008, three months to the day after I installed the WFP software (Dec 11, 2007). Still no email. I think I'll send a ping email to get the auto-response. We'll see how that goes.

I also installed the program 3 months ago. I got a survey in my email today from Microsoft. My first one. Took about 10 minutes to do it.

I don't think the computer had to be on everyday.

I got the same after having the program running for 2+ months Both of thier apps/services as mentioned in the FAQ were running daily (6-8 hours) and had internet access all that time. Anyway, I unistalled/re-installed after that email and again have had the program running daily. I have not recieved any further feedback but have used the address as Engineer mentioned to inquire about my status. I will report back here if I get a meaningful reply.

just got my confirmation email, but with a twist... this was stuck in the middle of it-

"You may also continue to receive an occasional invitation to participate in a Windows product survey, though this is not guaranteed. Your participation in surveys is optional.

We would love to keep you in our program and offer new incentives. If you continue participating in the automated feedback program through March 30, 2008, you will receive a sweepstakes entry for a chance to win USD $5000 cash. For complete sweepstake rules, including alternative entry methods, visit Official Rules, Windows Feedback Program Sweepstakes. There is no purchase required to enter. The sweepstakes program is open only to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Please check http://wfp.microsoft.com for new incentives before you uninstall the feedback tool."
