Doubt he'll get that price. These discs are going between $200 and $250 on ebay with BIN auctions. I watched one go last night for $32.01 on regular auction (#200219460263). :-\ I got rid of mine for $209 in just under 12 hours yesterday on Ebay.

The auction was pulled today, but i already received the money and the software is on its way. I can't link to it anymore because ebay removed the physical page, but here's my email confirmation for selling the item with my personal information blacked out.

They don't just 'pull' auctions. They are generally viewable for a couple months. I'd be gettin' a little nervous about now if I were you.
They also 'pulled' the other one you referenced. Sh!ts gonna hit the fan on this. I bet MS does these promos and giveaways on purpose just to make millions in settlements from illegal sales. 20 times (referencing vaylons post) the amount? whew! X100? X1000?

The last few years i've got free software from MS i used to trade it on another board. I would never sell for cash or try to sell on ebay/craigslist, but instead traded office last year for a motherboard, and the year before that for a gamecube. When they did the seminars last year and gave out Office 2007 for free there were a ton of auctions on ebay, and most sold for in excess of $200. Took microsoft & ebay about a month before they caught onto what was happening.

A friend got one for selling a NFS version of XP almost 2 years after he sold it on ebay. The settlement offer was for $2000. He was going to fight it but the cheapest attorney he could find wanted 1000 just to take the case. So he made them a counter offer for 1000 and they accepted.
BUt others have been nailed by going to court. Microsoft's attorneys show up with the disc, packaging, ebay records, paypal records, ip records. Emails. and in some circumstances , the name of the person or place where you originally got the disc. They are very intimidating.
Others have just ignored the letter and had default judgments placed against them and ruined their credit.

If your gonna sell them, sell them to friends and family. Not on an auction site.

I am sure that MS is going to send their legal team after you for selling one NFR copy of software..........

Actually they do, their legal staff calls up and hire local attorneys.

Mailman just left and no vista yet.
I am only about 120 miles from the WV shipping center. So I guess they are sending out the other stuff first.

there are some posts on the sd thread that indicate vista has just Today started to arrive. no details though, other than that it is two discs with two keys. (like before)

unfortunately my business' usps is usually a day late on their mail (gets picked up just before delivery) and i haven't been home yet so i don't know if i'm a winner Today or not.

Got mine today. Yup, NFR discs in plain white sleeves.

The funny thing is that they sent both a 32-bit and a 64-bit disc (as retail versions of Ultimate include,) but each sleeve/disc has its own product key with "Proof of License". I'm going to take this to meant that I have one 32-bit license, and one 64-bit license. Woo-hoo! My current Retail Vista Ultimate is installed on my game machine; I guess I'll put the 64-bit install on my son's computer, and the 32-bit install as a combo Boot Camp/Parallels install on my MacBook Pro. I used to have my one retail copy on my MBP, but I transferred it to my game machine some time ago, when I decided to upgrade my game machine from XP.

(What's even funnier is that I installed the WFP software in an otherwise-empty Parallels install of XP, and only booted into that install maybe five times during the three month period required.)

Be sure to provide update if you can install/activate both keys. I'm curious, now.

I emailed microsoft as to whether you could install both or just one at once:

Hi, I recieved my Vista Ultimate disks from the Feedback program today (thanks), and I was wondering if I can have both the 32bit & 64bit versions installed at the same time on different PCs? The label on the back of the paper DVD slip says to "see license terms" but there's nothing in my package detailing those terms.

Thanks.

Absolutely, xxxxx, you can install both on different PCs. Each one has a license key on the back.

THANK YOU

The Windows Experience Team

Nice

As am I.

I've received things in the Chicago mail 3 months after I was supposed to, including my mortgage statement. Thank goodness I've got automatic payments!

For those who have received their package, is it coming through regular mail or different carrier? Does it require a signature or anything like that?

Thanks for any & all info ...

Got my Vista today (cali) and noticed its the original version.... what, is M$ trying to offload old discs? I was really hoping (with them taking so long to mail it out) that maybe we would get sp1 since it doesn't seem possible to slipstream sp1 into a vista install.
