i got nothing... they better not have forgot about me. i did select my product and entered my mailing adress at the time of survery though...

I figured the $5k would be used to fix things that won't work properly with Vista...thus the bonus...

I registered back in early Dec and filled out the survey. I got a confirmation email then but nothing until Jan 31, when I got this:

All customers who entered their name and email address on the first enrollment page on our website http://wfp.microsoft.com before the program closed at 2 p.m. PT on December 11, 2007 are eligible to receive the free product offer. We reviewed the timestamps in our system and would like to inform you that you are eligible.

However, we still need you to select your free product and provide us with a shipping address. Please follow this link to finish your registration:
So I did that, picked my prize and installed the software.

Then today I got another email saying my pc is not sending data:
While you are a registered member of the program, not all of the requirements have been met to qualify you to receive the free product offer. As a reminder, when you registered for the program, we stated that you will receive your product only after we have confirmed that you have:
blah.blah..
If you are sure you are using the correct email address, you may want to check your firewall application. Please make sure it is set to allow wfpuserreg.exe and wfpservice.exe access to the Internet on outgoing TCP ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS).
So I opened those ports in norton, hope it works...

Is there any way to test it? The web site "FAQ" is pretty lacking in technical help...

I got an email pretty similar yesterday. Not sure why, I THOUGHT I had things properly configured...I've written for more information.
Oddly enough, I have 2 email accounts, one gmail (which is what I used to set this up with) and one through my isp. The "Your computer isn't sending" email came to the isp account instead of the gmail account...

I received that email today as well. Both apps show as running in my task list so I added the ports in Kaspersky along with the wfpuserreg.exe one but was not prompted for anything on reboot. I replied asking them if they could tell me if it is talking now so I guess I just wait now.

We would like to notify you that we have received the missing registration information from you, and your PC sends data on a frequent basis. THANK YOU!

As soon as you complete the 3 months participation term, your free product selection will be sent to the mailing address you submitted at registration. Prior to sending out your product we will be verifying your selection and mailing address.

If you still have questions, please don?t hesitate to email winpanel@microsoft.com and we will make every effort to get back to you. Please note that we are currently experiencing a high volume of questions and are frequently updating the FAQ that is sent out as an automatic response from winpanel@microsoft.com.

I got that email today as well. I even installed the thing on another computer just to be sure they are getting something from me.

Haven't gotten mine. But it said you had to use the program for 3 months. For most of us that three months is March 10.

As part of this study, you would download and install a small program (ClickSight®) that collects information about the features you use in a variety of software applications. In exchange for filling out a short survey and leaving the tool installed for 6 months, you will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate*. The survey and installation process should take about 10 minutes.

I got a survey email on Feb. 25. It was the first survey I had received. I got the on track to get my free gift email over a month ago. Should be getting close to the 90 days.

I got this too, and noticed it was an optional survey.

Wow MS has really reduced the bait they think it'll take to let them stalk you for six months.

I'm in line to receive the free Vista Ultimate from the original feedback program once the 3 months is up (mid March) and now they're offering a whopping $10 gift card if you participate for 6 months.

I'll bet they don't get near as many takers this time around...

Next question is...upgrade or reformat everything and reinstall?

With all the hassles we had with getting my PC to send data, I was actually surprised to receive it.

I was one of the people who originally signed up using a gmail address and never got a reply, so I used my "other" address and got in, but then they tried to claim I missed the window...so, with a few emails, got that fixed...and they kept saying my "regular email address" wasn't connecting, but were receiving info from my gmail address...go figure...
