Am I missing something here OfficeMax is going to delivery for free to your door a Verbatim 48x12x48x (or a 48x16x48x 8M buffer drive if it the Samsung drive), 200 blank CDRs and they are going to PAY you for letting they do that for you.

While your complaining they are going to run out of stock and then you problem will be solved.

I saw that too, and am saving the ad.

Also, they all want the UPC. I assume that the OM rebates will accept a copy of the UPC's.

No Sales Tax in Oregon, so I make about $15.

i don't trust those sucky cdr rebates.
i ended up getting verbatim and z-540 instead.
it's only about $35.

I opened the box ,and it is a rebagded Samsung, Model# SW-248FEA. It also states 48-24-48, rather than 48-12-48. The Samsungs also have a 8MB buffer. Also, it only comes with Nero Express. I had the full Nero installed on my computer from a previous TDK burner, but it wont let me use it, gives me a window stating "This version of Nero is for TDK drives only" Anyone know a way around this?

Can someone tell me if Samsung drives are good, or should I bring this back?

It gets better!

The substitution I got was a Pacific Digital 52/24/52, which appears to do CAV, have buffer underrun protection, and support DAO, SAO, TAO, Raw Mode and Overburn according to their site.

Comes with Nero 5.5

And the rebate is $20, not $30 or $40. At the very least it's a cheap way to get Nero. =)

I opened my Cendyne. i got a 48x16x48 Model 4816a which would seem to be an Asus with a 2 MB buffer.

If you don't get your rebates you can always call the CC company and dispute the charge. I've done that before because technically a rebate offer is a contract and they didn't uphold their side of the contract so it's void.

Not sure what OfficeMax would do or say but they are the ones that advertised it so technically they are working in a partnership with the vendor so they have to take some responsibility I would think.

Look here for a review. That link plus the one I posted earlier should help you make a decision about the drive. Considering what other people are getting, it's a good deal.

I believe thats a Acer model#. www.google.com look up 4824P, i see Acer...
