I just called (was on hold forever). The 3 main rebates ($170, $140, $200) will all indeed work together. The sales rep said to make copies of the packing form to include in the MIR, and to keep the original. The last rebate, you should call to verify if your school is qulified. Although my school is not on the list (Binghamton University), she said there is no harm in trying because they still might honor it. Hope this helps. Thanks for the deal!

Is there an annual charge for a Fed Ex account? Is there a separate bill for shipping or something?

Currently on hold with Dell Cust. Service, trying to verify the rebates ... hopefully my cell phone battery won't die on me before I get through

Man, I've been on hold with Dell for ages!!! This deal must be too good to be true. They probably have only one person manning the phones. I'm still not sure if I'm going to get in on this deal; You have to wait 8-10 weeks for $610 in rebates, if they come.

If it does work, I would get the system for under $300. Hmmmmm....

If you speak with a Dell CSR please do us ALL a favor and:

1) Verify and ask them flat out is they are a Dell EPP (education) CSR?
2) If they say YES you can combine all 4-5 rebates please get their first name, badge ID and phone extension.

Thanks!

So how does this Fed Ex account work? Do we need to arrange for shipping/pick-up? Or does Dell just bill our personal FedEx account when they get around to shipping the computers?

Bit the bullet and placed the order.
$780 minimal configuration
$0.00 shipping
$49.84 tax?
---------
$829.84 total

shipping looks like extra ... hmmm.

Has anybody here received the order confirmation email?

I placed the order about 10 minutes ago, nothing showed up in my email account, and when I tried to login using email/password at order status page at dell.com, it told me no order has been found!!!

DELL Employee purchase program is the one that your company participates into. If you are in the IT dept. you must know this. This is like a promo given to employees of a company that buys their computer sytems from DELL.
DELL Student/Faculty purchase program works the same way. Just change employee to student/faculty.

...but $510 off is a steal!

this is the key for those of you that are not college students! Check to see if your company offers Corporate Perks or something similar.
My company is in the EPP so I was able to use the same deal and all the rebates say Employee Purchase Program so rebates are 100% valid for us older working people.

PS: A legitimate deal, the hottest deal I have ever had I believe... Beats that $350off Staples BTO laptop, which I am waiting to get as we speak...

Thanks. My company does not qualify for employee program, and I am not a student either. Fortunately, my wife is still a graduate student, and she is qualified for the Education Program. I guess this is the biggest win I've got since I paid thousands of dollars for her tuition:-(

The Fedex account is free, there is a post about it in the archives, search for "fedex account"

Also if I use FedEx Express Saver, I get free shipping to San Diego. Anyone else get this?

Its not really free, they just put that there cause you are being billed directly by FedEx for shipping, not by them.

HI everyone,

I was wondering if the $152 standard 17in monitor is worth it or is there a better deal for monitors? Also, I just got my private account at fedex.. how do I use fedex instead of paying for dell's shipping price? Much thanks to you!

$610 in MIRs - not bad at all...

Mine should come out to $331.79 total if everything works out as it should.

Thanks!

The lowest I can get this thing is $931. Can't reduce warranty to anything less than the "3 Year Limited Warranty plus 3 Year At-Home Service"
