Uh...are you aware of what EPP stands for?

Isn't it employee purchase program (which is now elligable for DELL students)?

The rebate imo can go 2 ways (due to the ambiguity of the English language).. It's open to Dell faulty, and all students and all staff for any university, or Dell faculty, Dell students, and Dell staff at a Dell sponsored university... Some schools are sponsored by Dell (mine is one of them) but many are not. I am guessing that this is ONLY for students who attend schools who are sponsored by Dell... I could be wrong but I wouldn't bet $710 on it...

Grrr. Don't confuse me like that. The language on the rebate forms "Dell Employee Purchase Program/ Dell Faculty, Student and Staff Program" (EPP/SSP) follows the name of the site it is ordered from. My rebate from a few months ago on the Inspiron 8200 read "Dell Small Business" in that same spot of the wording. It is even further distinguished 2 sentences further: "Not valid for products purchased through the Dell Home Sales or refurbished products through Dell Factory Outlet."

The rebates apply to Dell EPP (not argued) purchases and the schools described under the SSP requirements here. I think it's good to be cautious, but the rebates aren't as limited as you're guessing.

people are not dumb, you always write down the name and time of the CSR you spoke to and what they said. so it's not wise for the CSR to lie just to make the commission.

To the folks using their own fedex accounts:

At the fedex website, all I see are options for sending items but I didn't see any for RECIEVING them? What do I do? Thanks!

That's what has me worried. Think I might order tonight just so my foot is in the door then call Dell tomorrow and ask for someone in management to confirm whether I'll get the rebates or not. If I have a definitive answer tomorrow, that's plenty of time to cancel my order (no harm done) or time to start celebrating since this just became the HOTTEST DEAL OF THE YEAR!

Well, three of the rebates are listed on Dell's website together (the HD, Memory, and $200 ones) and the other two both specifically say "Can be combined with any promotion at Dell Educational Personal Purchase Program website going on from 11/11/02 - 12/15/02. Not valid for products purchased through the Dell Home Sales or refurbished products through Dell Factory Outlet."

I think the "One Rebate per qualifying purchase" is there so you don't try to send in two of the memory rebates, or two of the hard drive rebates, etc.

The only two rebates I would worry about are the Holiday and the Earlybird. However, I can't find ANY reason that they wouldn't be valid on the rebates or on the websites they list.

Well after much deliberation and reading of the rebate fine print I went ahead and ordered a Dimension 8250 through EPP ( I work for GE.)

I read all of the rebates, and they all said that they could be used with any other promotions. I don't understand where everyone is getting the information that would lead them to believe otherwise. As long as you are a qualifying EPP or Educational buyer you should be able to stack all of the rebates. Plus, with all of the CSRs confirming that the rebates will work, I am not too worried.

I am going to go ahead and call Dell tomorrow and make sure that everything is cool, but after reading all of the fine print on the 5 rebates it all looks fine.

Here is what I got:

P4 2.4
256 RDRAM
120GB 8MB Cache Drive (Didn't want to hassle with getting one seperately)
WinXP Home
ATI 9700TX (gonna overclock this baby as soon as I open the box. =)
Minimal options on everything else

Total price: $970-170-200-100-100= $400!!!

This has got to be one of the hottest deals I have ever seen.... Can't wait to get this baby

Does that mean that I don't qualify if I am a high school student? I'll get my sister to do it then, she goes to San Jose State University.

By the way that Radeon 9700 is NOT the Radeon 9700 PRO. It is the wimpier version.

Hmmm... now since I bought this bad-boy, I guess that my next task is to figure out if you can O/C the 8250

Does anyone really expect to get a system for $60 (plus whatever you added to the base system) + tax + shiping, net? I think Dell would probably honor all rebates it had active just to keep up good will, but I'm starting to become skeptical. It's still a great deal with just the first 3 rebates for $510 off, so I'm not cancelling anyways.

Got this through my employer (a Fortune 500 company). Just add another one into my pc fleet.

call them for your employer's member ID. Looks like Dell has most big companies.

I upgraded 40xCDRW (I need a black CDRW) and SB Live! Card. Total after MIR would be around $180 plus shipping.

Time to give away something. Plan to give Dell 4500 to my sister, AMD XP1800 to my another sister.

good point, and that's why I myself, even though saw it this morning hesitated to buy it because waiting for these rebates makes me a little edgy , but in the FW thread people were saying these were stackable
