Heyheys, whew, its been an eon since I have posted on Anandtech =P. Anyways, I am a Hot Deal veteran, and this is the bonafide details which I got from both FedEx and Dell combined.
I spoke to my personal salesperson named Jim W. whom some of u might have. He was very courteous, and apparently has been swamped by customers inquiring about this hot deal. He says that he knws SOME website (not aware of the AT effect it seems =P), which is notifying its members about this. The orders and inquiries came in waves. First the orders came, then a ton of phone calls came in about the rebates. A day later ANOTHER ton of phone calls come in..ALL about FedEx ground, LoL!!!!
You CAN do FedEx ground shipping, it is an option. Dell will not bill you for shipping (so ask them to wipe off that $90 if it is there already). Dell will need the Ground number, Make sure you have a 7 digit number, dont listen to any BS that a FedEx holiday temp worker might say, you need a 7 digit number, because the 9 digit numbers will only work for billing purposes on FedEx ground, nothing else. This is how you word it.
FedEx: Yada yada, we dont have any 7 digit numbers to give out, the 9 digit number works for ground and Express, by FedEx law.
Anandtecher: I do understand and acknowledge your new number system. But please tell me MY 7 digit number for ground. It is there.
They will give u ur 7 digit number, call back if they dont.
Here is the kicker: You will be billed seperately by FedEx themselves, something between $18 and $30, hence, eliminating the third party clause I just read.
Also, if your tower is in the building phase, you will not be able to change ANY parts during the ordering process, but you can wait until you get ur computer, then call returns department and ask for new part, they will ship the new part and a prepaid shipping label., and you can ship the old part back for credit. I wanna personally change the CDROM back to a burner, and make the HD 7200 RPM again.
Good luck all. Keep those hot deals coming!
