yep, it is...so?

i think most wake-on-lan mobos do this, at least my dells and computer with gigabyte 8iexp.

haven't tried, but if it is for wake-on lan, then you might be able to turn it off in the bios.

I still don't see a problem with the light being on though.

Nothing wrong with the LED on the NIC being on. Most of them do that. Same thing with your modem, if it had a LED. It is also on when the power is off.

That status for each of the 5 shows: "Status: We have received your submission and it is being processed." The dollar amounts on the detail screen are all correct though.

I've also sent mine in. ABout 2 weeks ago. I've got all 4 except the holiday one like you crossing my fingers...

OK, I have a problem I hope you all can help me figure out. I got in on this deal and used the 3rd party shipment option. I called in my order. After seeing my invoice Dell charged me the full $90 to ship and did not use my shipper (UPS). Since noticing this, I have been trying to get my sales rep to fix it. Well finally today I talked to a different rep and he sent an e-mail to my rep cc'ing his manager and me. Well his manager got back to me saying first:

"Thank you for your call to Dell. Unfortunately at the time of purchase free shipping was not offered and Dell was unable to use a customer carrier account number to bill shipping. Therefore your request for shipping refund is denied."

I emailed back saying, that I was aware there was not a free shipping choice and that I had asked to use my own shipper.

She emailed back saying:

"Mr. Yyyyyy,
It is our policy that unless you are a UPS employee you are not eligible to
use a personal UPS account.

Respectfully,
Xxxxx Xxxxxx"

I wrote back that I was not aware of any such policy, and they she wrote back:

"Mr. Yyyyyy,
Your order is associated to Zzzzzz. As an Zzzzzzz employee we do not offer
the option to bill a UPS a personal account number. This is a new policy for
the EPP department.

Regards,
Xxxxx Xxxxx."


I have not replied yet. What do you all think I should do?

Keep posting the rebates status. I got my 5 rebates received and they are all correct in amount. But when will they send all the sweet checks out?

Call them and tell them that you were not notified of such a policy when placing your order. It is Dell's responsibility to notify customers any changes or exceptions in their policy.

I mailed mine Dec 17th and nothing is showing up as of yet.

Should I resubmit them or just wait? I emailed rebatestatus yesterday requesting information. I wonder how long they take to reply.

the other 4 of 5 are MIA... all sent in at the same time certified with USPS....

did any of you fedex people, actually get money out of dell. those asses just say.... take it up with fedex.


i hate dell. now, if i had actually paid full price for this thing, i 'd be really pissed, but oh well, we raped them. i am not buying there crap anymore unless its at firesale and likely dell losing money prices, its just not worth it.

their customer service is HORRIBLE, compared to HP , compaq, ibm, and basically every other computer company i've ever dealt with. they are just, you want to kill them over the phone and over email.

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have all their rebates showing up. I sent all 5 in on Dec. 13th, normal mail. 2 showed up last week (1 a day after the other). The other 3 still aren't showing up on the site.

DELL's customer service is GREAT ! I've never had a problem that they didn't resolve.

But I have to admit I didn't set up a FEDEX account without having the slightest idea what I was doing, and then expect DELL to make everything all better.

I agree, Dell's customer service has always resolved all my problems that I had with them too... except that 2 problems equalled almost a total of 15 hours on the phone... both were for defective (on arrival) monitors I had purchased. Customer service wouldn't RMA them without tech supports verification that they were bad... tech support wouldn't verify for customer service because I didn't have a dell system.

I promised myself I wouldn't keep reading this thread.... I'm going to kick myself in the a** if I missed out on this deal... I kept saying "too good to be true... too good to be true..."

Mailed all 5 rebates out on 12/14. Only one shows up for me so far on the rebatestatus.com. Anyone know when we should start worrying?

Just finish talk with dell's CSR for the rebate issue for purchasing of Dell Dimension 8250 on 11/26/02.

I ordered it on-line on 11/26/02. But they put 12/02/02 as order date in my packing slip and ship date 12/05/02. (Rebates are only for order dated 11/21/02-11/26/02 on packing slip.) Called Dell several times.

First time, said, dell would credit the rebates back to my credit card, ask me to wait for 15 days.

Second time, said, they can not authorize credits, they already processed rebates for me and I do not need to send in any rebate form, wait 8-10 weeks for rebates.

This time, call again to get confirm, said, I have to mail in rebate form, even though the order date in packing slip is not 11/26/02, but they can not gurantee rebates because they are customer service. (But, they represent Dell and provide service for rebate issues, don't they?)

Can't believe a "reputable" Dell has such CSR! Can't give me any helpful solution. Only wasting my time on waiting!

Learn my lesson! Don't trust Dell again. Dell is a cheater. My family will never ever buy Dell's product again for sure. :|

I don't know what happened in your case, but I ordered 4 hours before the rebates expired and they correctly labeled my order date.
Also, I sent out the rebates on the 29th or so, in regular first class mail, and all 5 of my rebates have shown up on rebatestatus.

You think someone's going to go through all of this hassle with 5 rebates and extra shipping charges and pass this spectacular final price on to you so you can use it on your science project??!! If someones really interested in getting rid of it after that, you'd have much better luck finding it on ebay!

Only one of 5 has shown up on rebatestatus.com. #36445.

I called up the rebate people, they're not Dell people just a 3rd party company handling Dell's rebate. Rep tells me that they should have received all my rebates by now. There was no "We're swamped with mailed rebates, call us later". He tells me to fax my forms in again. I ask him what happens if they disappear again . He says since they're faxed, they shouldn't be lost. We'll see.
Since the dollar amount is so high, the rebate company should send out reject letters to everyone, explaining why they didn't qualify. They may yet do this but if that was the case why couldn't the rep look me up in the database and say why I was rejected.

That's why professionals have dell banned in many places.

Once dell see's that there is really a problem which would take time to solve, they hang up on you.

If it is a very simple task, they do it eventually but only after much wait and hold and being forwarded to a zillion other rep's and repeating all the info [ ..for your own protection as they say, but it is only to piss you off so you won't call them anymore] over and over again.

And in the end ask you if you were satisfied with their services .....

dell is banned from many universities too, their marketing and sales is very good, but in the end you are stuck with their horrible "service".
