I just got this e-mail from dell about 2 hours ago. I guess most people are going to be getting it.
I already responded and sent proof so I'm just going to wait and see what is next.

Based on your e-mail address alone, we are unable to verify your eligibility for the rebates that you submitted. As such, we require additional proof in the form of a copy of a valid Faculty, Student or Staff ID or pay stub from an accredited institution of higher learning or your Faculty or Staff ID from an accredited K-12 school so that we can verify your ID with the respective school registrar. CASE 2: CUSTOMERS WHO ARE NOT VALID FACULTY, STUDENT AND STAFF MEMBERS
In the interest of customer goodwill, Dell is willing to offer you a $300< credit on your prior system purchase from our 5% discounted Faculty, Student and Staff website. $300 exceeds the value of rebates and promotional offers you could have obtained had you ordered your system from Dell?s Division of Home Sales during this time. If you accept this offer, please reply via the email address given below. Please understand that if you choose to accept this credit, it constitutes a final resolution of any issues with respect to your rebate claims. The $300 credit will be credited to your credit card within a few weeks of your response to this offer.
