it's a cheap ultra with a lifetime warranty!!! i've got half a dozen random far ultras running and haven't had a problem with any of them... it will certainly run this setup just fine... even with a single chip gpu like a 4850 or 70... just don't get carried away stuffing disks and such in it...

It's still a retail board package.....so yes to cables. Barebones just means it's a packaged deal with compatible parts....in a barebones way so that you still need a HDD/Optical, etc.

The deal has changed, it's now $50 higher on Tiger. Another IMPORTANT thing to note... the terms of the MIR's indicate that they must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase. However, when I placed my order, Tiger indicated that I could expect to receive it by Jan 13th. That's more than 30 days. Could make us ineligible for the rebates. Also not sure why it should take someone so long to deliver their goods. They say the $1.99 shipping is 3-7 days... what's the other 3 weeks for? Maybe they don't actually HAVE the stuff? *shrug*

can someone please recommend a cpu heatsink/fan for this motherboard/cpu combo? I bought one off of newegg and my only guess was it was a bad match, because once I installed xp, my system would lock up, then be ok for a few seconds, then lock up again, then completely freeze. I tried both sticks of memory by themselves, but same result. I tried applying some artic silver instead of what came on the heatsink, no luck. I'm really frustrated. so anyone who got this, please let me know what cooler you are using. I can't think of what else would be causing this problem.

If they don't come through it's not going to be because they're hurtin (they're probably loaded with funds due to all the rebates they don't payout). It would be because they're a very shady company. They lost my Corsair rebates (two of them), responded to 2 of my emails with blank replies, it is impossible to reach someone on the phone, and after 6 weeks of taling to three different people from WW Rebates' sister company (that would be TigerDriect - both are part of Systemax) I have still not gotten 2 Corsair rebates validated.
