Dead or Alive? Ati Radeon 9800pro 128M $129 at Compgeeks!

UPdate Feb 04: Got my card today, 128MB Samsung 2.86 ns (K4D26323RA-GC2A) memory. I checked Hardocp review of Powercolor 9800pro, turned out

this card is indeed a Powercolor 9800pro with underclocked core and mem. Used Rage3dtweak to run it at 380/340 without problem. According to Hardocp,

it can reach 415 core but no more. Anyway, good deal indeed.


Just placed the order. It's used Ati 9800 from HP oem. 90 days warranty.

Update: all are gone. But seriously I think they might have more in these days.

9800 has 8 pipelines, 9800se has only 4. According to Compgeeks, this is a 9800, not SE.

good deal then, yeah the clock speeds vary, so i hope you're right.

Kenrippy, yes, the clock speed is a little lower but I hope I can overclock it. Also, SE has 128 bit memory interface, 9800 has 256bit. So I guess this one only lowered clock speed.

Only a 90 day warranty? Hmm is this typical for used vid cards? Seems a bit risky but maybe I am just a risk-averse buyer.

yeah, at least you snagged one.

with some bga ramsinks and maybe a better hsf (and a little luck) you can OC that thing great. you can even flash it to an XT or Pro if you want.

Newegg has Sapphire Radeon 9800 pros for $229 bulk and $239 retail. They aren't OEM and aren't used.

The bulk is sold out but back in stock 2/2.

Pretty amusing at compgeeks site...showed 4 remaining, hit refresh...3 remaining, hit refresh...2 remaining, waited a minute, hit refresh...1 remaining, hit refresh...it disappears from the screen.

I am holding out for compgeeks to get more retail Powercolor 9800Pro's for $159.
