Today (12/21) is the last day to do this deal.

Target has Oral B 3D Excel combo with Mach3 Razor (for men or women) on sale for $54.99
Bring the flyer and PM it to Bed Bath & Beyond. I couldn't find the same combo at LnT.
After PM, use LnT 25% off coupon (go to chubbywallet, the coupon is there)
Or if they reject it (shouldn't be) use their own 20% off coupon found on local newspaper.
Finally there is a MIR on previous sunday paper (coupons section) for $10.

Here how I got it.

PM to Target $54.99 - 25% = $41.25 - $10 MIR = $31.25 (I paid $44 after tax, so after MIR would be $34)

It will be slightly more if you use 20% off coupon.
For those of you who does not have the MIR, inside the box there is a MIR for you and your friend purchase. You will need to purchase 2 of them to make this work though.
I will see if I can find the MIR elsewhere and host it.

This is an awesome deal, once you use a 3d Excel you won't use anything else. I used to have an older Oral-B/Braun model but this 3D Excel stuff is so much better.

How much is this retail? That's a crapload of work to save $20, but if this thing retails for $100 or something, I'll just pick it up.

Hmm...I have a Mach 3 (no Mach 15 like SNL ), how much do the 3D Excel's go for by themselves? My Sonicare needs replacing.

Beware! I don't mean to scare anyone away, but the 3D Excel (which I have had for more than a year since it first came out for like $120) uses expensive brushes. I think I bought them last at drugstore.com for about $6 a piece in packs of 3. That said, I love this toothbrush. It works great for me and feels great. The thing is a little loud, but that tells me that it is working instead of those "sonic" ones which my dentist said don't work as well.

I love my Mach 3 also! This combo sounds like a really nice deal- too bad I used my bed bath and beyond coupon already...

Yeah, but $6 a brush pales in comparison to the prices I've seen on those 'Sonic' replacement heads. I have to agree about the Mach 3 and the quality of the 3D Excel, together they make a great pair in the morning.

Is it true that the 3D excel is better than sonicare? I thought it was the other way around.... that sonicare was more highly regarded...

The general concensus which I agree with is that Sonicare is better than 3D excel.

I prefer Sonicare too. Don't confuse sonicare with some cheap sonic brands..

I don't know how much value to place on these research studies since many of them are partially funded by Braun, but the research here is interesting reading:

http://www.oral-b.com/dentalpros/research/

I haven't tried Sonicare personally so I can't really say that the 3D Excel is better from personal experience. The only thing I know about Sonicare is that the replacement brushheads are more expensive than the replacement brushheads for the Braun products. I have owned both the older Braun electric toothbrushes and the newer 3D Excel and I can say that the 3D Excel is much nicer than the older ones.

On Epinions both Sonicare and Braun get 5 stars on all of their models so everyone is happy with their toothbrush basically.

I think both are equally good or slight edge to Sonicare.
For me, I'd get whichever is cheaper.

Braun 3D kicks sonicares but in every manner. I ditched my sonicare for the braun. Just got back from Costco 2 Sonicare brushes = 17.99, Six Braun 3D brushes (that last longer) = 24.99.

Why is Sonicare better than Oral B 3D or vice versa? I need to get one cause my gum is receding...no good.

From what I read it seems people prefer Sonicare. But then the brushes do cost more.

Anyone who had used both might be able to tell me why they prefer one over the other?

Ahh, objectivity, context, what a wonderful thing to see.

My girlfriend is a dental hygenist. She says both the Braun and the Sonicare are good products, but believes the sonicare is more effective. That is what she uses. I used the Braun products (most recently the 3D) prior to getting a sonicare from her. Now I greatly prefer the sonicare. It is one of my favorite products of all time. I would dread having to go back to the braun. Seems very odd to be so devoted to an electric toothbrush, but that's the way it is. It does take a few days to get used to the sonicare. In my opinion, either braun or sonicare are big improvements over a manual brush if you are having problems with your gums.

One disadvantage of the sonicare is that it is quite a bit bulkier than the braun 3d. A minor inconvenience if you take it with you when you travel.

At an ADA convention a few months ago, Sonicare introduced a new model, the Elite Pro. It is supposed to be more effective than the original Sonicare at cleaning periodontal pockets. Users have been enthusiastic. The Elite will be available in a few months and cost about $130. The original model will continue to be available.

Thanks kathmandu, that is exactly the information I am looking for. I'll get a Sonicare myself.

Glad I could help. If you weren't having trouble with your gums, I'd say hold out for the new model. Either way, you should be much better off than with a manual brush. I hope to be getting the elite for Christmas.

Yes, Hyderadbadi, the above CNN article basically summarizes the study from cochrane's....

the Oral B 3d is the best...

however, sonicare is coming out with a new model this year, the ELITE, so we will have to see how that compares (if u are willing to wait)...

its a win-win situation for your mouth!
