No code received here yet either on this December 6th, 2002 in Toronto, Canada. Three of most co-workers already have their codes and systems, so yeah this is a bit unsettling considering I sent my info in the very first mail day possible. i got my bundle today I dunno why they even allowed it, but I wasn't even suppose to be eligible for it... I moved and the address on my paycheck isn't same as my current address... but I go what the hell, only cost 37 cents to try and i got it!

according to intel page my cpu has the SL6EV code.. which is a B0 stepping.... sucky ocer.. hope others get better ones.

I dont even own another Intel based board (Im a hardcore AMD fan), unless you count the ole 200mgz bad boy I have collecting dust on the rendering desk. I must say though I am very happy with the setup, its quite fast and has all kinds of neat features. I especially like the onboard sound, Van Halen sounds plenty good at full volume through it

I'm still waiting too, but i dont think either of you will get a code before me, I dont think any of us will get it. I think there is a greater chance of after another week calling intel and mabey getting a nice manager (i might have a case pending with one) to do some sort of adjustment manually? Unlikely but possible i guess

yeah me too, amd systems runs games more smoother to me, when I play D3D games, intel cpu tends to skip in the game for me... I think its coz amd cpu does more instructions per cycle? hope this new ones doesn't do that.

My B0 is above 500mhz what it is rated at, at stock voltages. So they are not a "sucky ocer".

Tech question for those that have hooked up their system with this motherboard.

I on the primary IDE channel I have my two hard drives, no problems there

But on the secondary channel, if I install my cd rom as the master, and my dvd rom as the slave, the motherboard fails to recognize either as attached. If I disconnect the dvd rom from the IDE cable, then the mb will recognize the cd-rom. I know the cd and dvd hardware are set correctly (master/slave) but I can only connect the master (cd) if I connect both, I get neither. Anyone encounter similar problems

I understand this is the wrong forum, but I am hoping that maybe the problem is a simple, commonly overlooked error because this is my first build. I would hate to think I got a bad mb

How is the onboard sound on this board? I have a philips acoustic edge right now, would the onboard sound be better than that? Or if they are pretty close I would rather just stick with the philips I think.

Onboard sound for this mobo is supposed to be fairly impressive, capable of comparing pretty evenly with the Sound Blaster Live! cards. The stereo mic input is something that I think is unique to this system, which is great if you want to do any voice recognition work or VoIP tinkering.

This was emailed to me by a rep at CompUSA....he cant register due to his email address so im posting for him:

hey viper, i can't join the anand forums because of my email addresses: excite.com or aol.com. But here is what I was going to post. Please relay it to the others in the forums if you care to.

I work at compUSA and today I talked briefly with the Intel rep. He told me that 2,000 codes were sent out previous to Friday (12/6/02). He also told me that the remaining 3,000 or so codes were sent out on Friday. Not sure if this is actually true, but it is reasonable considering more than half of the people at my store have not received their codes yet. So we may have hope....

i hope that's right! sounds like it could be; because seems like in every case, only half the people have gotten theirs at a particular store.. and the same is true of my store.. a buddy got his and ordered, but nothing for me yet... I hope they were indeed sent out friday!!! starting to get nervous!!!
