LOW tech. That is just what us old timers call a box fan. Add in some oscillating action, and THEN you might have something....

Now there's a case mod I want: a mini-itx board built into the back of an oscillating fan!

specs are here... looks like it's fairly quiet and a good amount of cfm...

Tho.. Kinda wondering about replacements. Would be interesting to see the cost of a new fan. Nice design tho. I think it's over kill and who knows if the case is decent. After being spoiled with a full tower quality aluminum I don't think I could ever go back to a crap case again. Tho, if the fan is the only thing your interested in then by all means! Good Deal!

I don't see any filter for the big fan. I have a case with 25mm side fan (lian li) and is as efficient blowing air as it is blowing dust inside. With a 40mm fan it can only be worst. I was able to put a filter on the 25mm fan and I have to clean it at least every month.
i have a fan almost that big and dust is a huge problem. If you add a filter you kill the airflow.

just fyi

Meh, strap a LCD panel to the side of your system and play the YouTube video on it.

You shouldn't find it a problem to strap a filter panel on - except the time and effort to make one fit good since it's a DIY fabrication job, as the filter panel would be such a massive surface area it has a far lower effect than those for smaller diameter fans. That is the key many people designing filtered cases overlook, they only think in terms of strapping a filter on an existing design, covering the diameter of a fan opening instead of using a larger filter panel with a fan set back from it... and of course the former is cheaper and easier than the latter.

It would have been nice if a standard size AC filter would work without too much modification. I suppose you could cut down a 20x20 to fit it.

There have been Hot Deal discussions on strapping a 20x20 AC filter to a standard box fan, for an inexpensive room air filter.

I wonder if it would hurt to stick your tongue in that fan?

Why would your tongue be anywhere near your computer?

If you could put a speaker inside the case and turned on text-to-speech, maybe it would sound like Darth Vader? :awe:

(I think that was in some Chris Farley movie).

performancepcs.com or some site like that sells the fans like these for 20 bucks each so its a good deal.. lil small of a case for me but i was going to buy one for budget build.. i currently use 4xantec1200 for about 120shipped each so its 1/3 the price but wonder how dusty it will get.. i also have a thermaltake armor i bought for about 55 shipped? has giant side fan but i couldnt use any good heatsinks with out putting the fan on the outside of the case (sticks out like 1.5" now) but its fine...

250cfm and only 12db noise ?
That would make a good HTPC case. No need for video card or processor fan with that kind of air flow, thought the flow of air itself coming out of the case would add noise.
