Well it showed up after all. If it's a refurb they sure did a hell of a job doing it. Looks brand new to me.

Well, I'm looking at mine as I type. Dell's email stated that in would ship on the 28th. Fedex tracking stated that it had infact shipped the 26th and in was in Memphis last night. Came home for coffee this morning @ 9:30 and there it was! If you have a Fedex tracking number I say it's on the way.

its not even being shipped by Dell. and the last time i bought a refurb/return from Dell, it said Dell Product Returns on the invoice. The invoice that came with my monitor says Dell software and preipherals. It doesnt seem like its a refurb/return, but i could be wrong.

I received one of those e-mails that it would be delayed for about a month too so I was disappointed. After reading some of these messages I decided to check my account and sure enough it showed it was shipped. Mine is in Oakland now so I should have it tomorrow.

Mine shipped too, and I ordered late Sunday night.
I probably won't get mine till Friday.
I hope it has no dead pixels.

Has anyone's monitor showed up with any dead pixels?
The Planar site says 3-4 dead pixels are considered "normal". Augh! The Gateway FPD1520 I use at work doesn't have any dead pixels at all.

Just got both of mine today and they rock! A Beaut.
Now its time to sell my other monitor.

Don't know how many people actually got the CT1904Z model,
but I was sent the CT1904ADU model.
Not gonna complain.
My display shows no indication that its a refurb.
However it was shipped directly from Planar Systems.

Just got (one of) my Planar LCDs in today! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Not a dead pixel in sight and bright as can be. Quite a step up from my 15" LCD. For some reason, my second one is arriving tomorrow. Anyway, this is a CT1904ADU and not the Z, but as most people have mentioned, I guess they are the same.

I too got the email today, but I already knew that mine had shipped. It's supposed to get here on Friday and is trackable, so it looks good. I ordered two other things over the weekend, including another 19" LCD, and those two are being shipped via UPS, whereas this one's FedEx, and will be here on Tuesday.

I got my email this afternoon stating that mine was delayed also. Kind of funny though, I was reading it on the LCD they were refering to.

I just received mine today. 2 dead pixels. What's Planar's policy? Should I bother returning it for another? Is it unreasonable to expect units with no dead pixels?

Thanks

oops, didn't see earlier post. I guess 2 dead pixels isn't so bad. I just need to not have black background.

I got the delay email too...it's on the truck for delivery as I type this though. Pretty quick for the cheapest (3-5 day?) shipping that they had! It shipped on the 27 in Portland, OR and it's being delivered the 29th in NY! :Q

Would that even work? I thought dead pixels are due to problem transistors which I thought are located on a membrane-type circuit board attached to the LCD panel.

I love the monitor. No dead pixels here, guess I got lucky.

Anyway, for those of you who have the monitor, what is considered the native resolution for it?
I think it's 1280 x 1024, but wanted to make sure.
I heard that LCDs look like crap if they aren't run at native resolution, but mine seems to work great at 1024 x 768 as well.

Inevitably, in every LCD thread, someone has problems with bad/dead pixels. I always chime in with the fix... then come the skeptics. :|

I don't have this LCD, but I do have a 15" LCD. It had 6 dead pixels, defined as an unlit dark spot on the LCD regardless of resolution or colors displayed. I "revived" all six pixels by rubbing with a Q-TIP, turning on almost instantly. It's been perfect for over a year.

If you truly have dead pixels this won't help, but it can't hurt to try as long as you're careful.

beloved patriot - yes, 1280x1024

Open a DOS prompt and make it go full screen (Alt-enter) to see crappy At least on my Planer 17.4,'s 640x480 is very bad!

These are NOT REFURB!

Your right 1280 x 1024 is native.

By the way no dead pixels here either. The only problem I have is keeping my son from trading me his 17" when I'm at work.
